In Broussard's defense he would probably agree that no it wasn't "fair" to other teams that they got to play a depleted Ravens team.

It is a weird take tbh, I mean I get what he's saying but like the Bengals had a chance to control their destiny but they lost to a really bad Patriots team and they knew in week 1 that the top of the AFC was going to be tight.

I think sometimes these guys have to throw takes out for the interest of a watchable show even if their argument is bad, they all do it. They can't all just sit there and agree with each other

I'd rather have a situation where the Bengals aren't in and we can almost guarantee a Bills/Ravens game the weekend prior. That will have so much build up for both teams that it could easily soften up the winner for the next weekend in KC.

There's a ton of good scenarios. It's good to be king.

I cannot decide who I would rather want in if it was only between the Donks and Bengals. I hate both so so much.

It would be so great to have Denver continue its irrelevancy

I think ultimately the answer is Denver because I don’t think they can beat Buffalo, and I think Baltimore @ Buffalo before the AFC Championship would serve us best of all.

Absolutely. And I'd really rather limit the upper echelon QBs in the playoffs if possible, especially a guy like Burrow who has thrown for nearly 5,000 yards this season and has a receiver as dominant as Chase. There's a lot more you can't control versus them than versus the Broncos.

Yeah, just seems like the very obvious path of least resistance. Cincy will sell it as fear, that’s fine, I just want my team to three-peat and whatever makes that most likely, I’ll take. Burrow deserves the respect of us acknowledging we’d prefer play Bo Nix. Obviously.

We went the hardest possible way last year. I’m good with not doing that again, especially the next year.

Playing devils advocate for a sec..Mahomes has lost 3 playoff games. 2 of them were because the defense got him. SB55 was mostly due to immense pressure.

Broncos and Chargers have excellent DL’s. Denver specifically has the best DL in the league in terms of sacks, pressures, hits and QB knockdowns. Also have the best corner in football.

We saw what the Chargers and Broncos DL’s did to our OL. We didn’t play a great DL until the SB last year.

Why Not? 01-05-2025 11:43 AM

Yeah, but the playoffs aren't supposed to be easy, right? Houston/Pittsburgh would have been nice opponents but typically you're facing good teams once you get to the Divisional round and beyond.

Also, you never know. Lamar may choke against the Steelers. Unlikely, the way those two teams are both playing, but they're divisional opponents who usually play close games.

Kind of like you don't think overtime rules are fair? YOU SHOULD HAVE SCORED ONE MORE POINT AND WON IN REGULATION.

It's not rocket science.

All teams that have nothing to gain, sit starters ever since it went to a single bye. I’d bet he didn’t say anything until the Chiefs started their run.

scho63 01-05-2025 12:31 PM

I'm so conflicted on this.

Bengals looked like crap against a declining Steelers team but they are on a heater and Burrow's and Chase's numbers are crazy.

Denver is weaker as a team and will be crushed by Bills or Ravens.

I hate the Donkeys and NEVER want to root for them.

Bengals play Bills tough and could they beat them?

Do I want to have Bills come to Arrowhead and send them home?

This will be a game time decision......

RunKC 01-05-2025 12:32 PM

FWIW Jay Glazer said Hopkins is playing today and for the incentive like Chris Jones did last year.

It's always fun the gameplan all the scenarios but I wouldn't think about it too much. Just play whoever makes it to the divisional and kick their ass. Bengals looked super beatable and have shown that they're beatable all year (9-8 record) but they obviously can throw up a lot of points when they're on their game. We know we're better than both the Chargers and Broncos, but divisional games are always a scrap. Buffalo and Baltimore are waving the "We can beat the Chiefs" flag in the media but what's new this year than the previous six seasons?

I agree that any Chiefs fan would be conflicted over this but I look at it as a no-lose situation. Sending the Broncos or the Bengals home will be a blast and if we end up seeing the Bengals it will only be because they defeated the Bills so kind of a 2-for-1 there.

Broussard is the ultimate fence sitter. As much as I respect him for being a level-headed guy, he never picks a side and tends to give criticism when it's not due.

He likes Pat, but he always loves the Ravens and tends to pick against Pat. He'll say he's the GOAT, but he also lets recency bias take over and will say "Man idk, Patrick just hasn't looked good recently" even though stuff like that never applies to the so-called GOATs of sports.

Chiefs WR DeAndre Hopkins has three incentives he can reach:
6+ receptions ($250,000)

Broncos WR Courtland Sutton needs 82-plus receiving yards for a $500,000 incentive

I hate the injury risk. Andy should do QB kneel-downs on every single play, which avoids injury for everyone. Spags can put the defense in the softest coverage ever, which also helps limit contact & injuries.

I’m sure kneel downs will go over well to guys trying to play for jobs next year that won’t be kept with us or guys like Hopkins who is wanting more money.

You can’t help injury. Worthy could get hurt in any of the possible 3 games after this week too. He’ll be taken out after the first half at latest.
