BTW, more nuts and bolts info for anyone who cares:

Rep Power = (Years Since Joined) + (Post Count)/1000 + (Rep Level)/1000

As mentioned earlier, the actual impact of rep power is capped at 50, though the front page will still show the result of the above calculation.

I think it's awesome that it's been reset, just to butthurt a handful of Dbags who think it's meaningful. I just think it should COST(deduct) the amount of rep you give from your own....like currency. There are only 1mil rep points....and they are spent back and forth other than those who horde them like gold bars.
