I don't think he's the next Lloyd Carr. But at the same time it does have something to do with Lloyd Carr. He's Carr's hand-picked guy. And that's the primary reason I'm wary about the hire. Carr is like the freaking plague. I don't want his fingers touching anything. Which unfortunately is never going to happen. He sees himself as the heir to Bo Schembechler and there isn't anybody in the athletic department who'll tell him otherwise.
As far as this game goes, I'll say what I said earlier. It's a mirage. They got dominated basically the entire game by a pitiful Notre Dame team. But I also wouldn't hold that against a first year coach. He has to have time to build his team, and Michigan hasn't had real defensive talent for almost 6 years.
But hey, I'll take a win over the Golden Gomers any freaking way I can get it. I wish they'd gotten a TD at the end to salt the wound.
