Interesting game. It feels like somebody threw Skyrim, Fable and Diablo in a blender. I like it.

I think the game purposefully does that. I've got a half-dozen good unique bows, 3 good unique chakrams, and a couple of hammers.

But since I'm using daggers and great swords, of course I've gotten a total of ONE of those.

:(

What's your current damage for your daggers and long sword?

Base damage in the 60-70 range I think. I have a high percentage to crit, so I've seen individual hits as high as 300...

I've got a longsword that does base damage (nothing else added on) of over 100.

I actually bought that longsword.

Have you done the Shine and Shadow quest yet? You get a bad ass set of daggers for doing it.

I had an idea......let me know if this wouldn't work.

What's to stop someone from visiting the fateweaver and resetting their character.....then turning around and pumping all of their points into something like Blacksmithing so that it's maxed out.....and creating a bad ass set of armor. Then visiting the fateweaver again, reset and create your character how you want.

Anything think this would work?

I'm using Great Swords rather than long swords. I actually forged one using the Hilt that was given for the Haxhi contract and Rhyderk's blade. It has a base damage of 74 I believe but that includes fire damage.

That happens to be the next quest on my list. Right now I'm using Spinning Tom's Daggers.

IIRC.....the Shine and Shadow daggers (purple) have a base damage of around 79. During the daytime they have extra fire damage....during nighttime they have ice damage.

I've done something to that effect already.

So how is this game? I'm honestly really burnt out on the "elves, dwarves, LOTR, WOW" themed games. But I might get bored and give this a shot.

Like the finesse destiny that gives you piece damage bonus or gems that add pierce?

Piercing works with any weapon, even staffs. Piercing probably wasnt the best thing to call it, since you probably would have a rough time piercing something with a blunt object.

Just think of the Piercing stat as Ignoring Armor. Whatever protection their armor rating gives, the piercing bonus will lower it, letting you do more damage.

Boy, I'll say one thing about this game - you wander into the wrong region and the difficulty ramps up dramatically.

The two headed troll things with their pet wolves are stomping my ass right now.

yep ... pierce is other games is different

seems like they screwed up stun a little bit too ... you can find stuff all over to increase stun duration but actually finding the "stun" itself is pretty dam hard.

the finesse ability paralytic poison gives you only like 10% chance to stun even maxed out. You can get a stun attack by doing a special attack and getting a hit on the final combo or something.

that's about it as far as i can see ... so that cool +20% stun duration gem isn't really worth it if you can't stun in the first place.

chakrams seem to stun if you do a full power up but that +20% duration didn't seem to do anything with i tried it so maybe it's not really a stun effect.

True and this is one of the points that separates this from Skyrim, I've always preferred that approach.

You have to use a special attack to stun I think. I stun all the time by using the Great Sword special charge attacks (far bottom left Might abilities). The first "level" attack is a whirlwind attack. If I charge it up fully and then continue to tap the X button during the whirlwind, he'll do a "juggle" at the end (if you're familiar with fighting games) - the upswing sends my foe into the air and the subsequent downswing, if it hits, has a chance to stun.

htismaqe 02-29-2012 07:34 AM

So I did pretty much all of Ettinmere last night and didn't get a single piece of loot that was worth keeping (the Daggers were nice but the daggers I'm using grant +4% EXP even when using the Great Sword).

Is maxing Blacksmithing the way to go? Are masterwork items blue or purple in quality?
