If they're winning with a legitimate quarterback then sure I'll be back, but I fail to see how I'm "bandwagon" when I've never witnessed a playoff victory in my conscious life yet stuck through the Gunther years, the punt-less playoff game, the Herm years and every single Matt Cassel home start.

I would.

Mike Martz has been a cluster**** since his "leave of absence" with the Rams. He's no longer in the league.

It's tough to defend Norv's decision to leave the 49ers for the Raiders. :D

And Jimmy Raye? Oh, Dude.

So, if the Chiefs had Manning or Rodgers or Brady or any other "legitimate" QB, you'd be on board.

Where I come from (the same place as you, apparently), that's called a Fair-Weather Fan.

Well, the one difference is that this is the second time the franchise has had the opportunity to draft a QB since 1983. They made the wrong decision then, and they might make the wrong decision this year, but at least they tried.

Key word is most. Most fans don't have a clue about how today's NFL is and they'll accept whatever retread is brought in or whatever egotistical nutjob is running the show at HC or GM.

EDIT About Manning et al:

If the Chiefs Ditka'd themselves into acquiring a Manning or Brady and in exchange won a SB it'd be bittersweet. It would be orgasmically awesome because the one sports team I've invested much of my time in finally won a championship, but chances are they put themselves in cap or talent hell doing it for about a decade or so. So I guess it would be a marginal net positive.

But I would be so much more accepting if the Chiefs took a Geno Smith, or a Tyler Wilson, or Bray, or shit even Barkley, flamed out to Ryan Leaf levels as long as they team tried again with a top tier QB prospect as soon as they recognized the error made.

You will jump on the bandwagon again when they are winning. U said so yourself. That will make you a bandwagon fan. Nothing wrong with that. I was just asking. I enjoy it out there regardless of winning and losing. I enjoy it more when they win of course.

O.city 03-13-2013 08:39 PM

Someone who's had season tickets for 40 years, jumps off at this point, I gotta ask, what took you so long?

LMAO

Are you ****ing functionally reeruned? The Chiefs have had EVERY opportunity to draft a QB in the first or second round for DECADES.

Why are you panties in a bunch because they've chosen to pass on a bunch of stiffs in order to win back their local fan base?

And neither do you.

The fans of the Kansas City Chiefs aren't going to give the team another five years to have a ****ing winning record. Five out of the last SIX SEASONS, they've had a losing record and not only THAT, but TWO 2-14 seasons.

You have absolutely NO CLUE about economics or marketing or anything else related to owning sports franchise if you believe that the Chiefs, after 4-12, 2-14, 4-12, 2-14, etc. and so on, are going WIN OVER their fan base by drafting a QB in a down year.

JFC. Are you 15 years old?

The Raye thing was a drunk Sorter being angry.

Martz at least 1.5 good years with the Bears.

Norv, eh. Probably overrated as a playcaller and underrated as a coach (although probably justly rated as a HC).

O.city 03-13-2013 08:41 PM

At this point, the Chiefs aren't going to lose any fans. After the past few years, they've already lost a bunch.

If they continue to "win over their fan base" by throwing 2nd round picks at veteran stiffs, then the fan base needs to be taken out back and shot. At least whatever fan base is still left.

It's sad to see what happened with Martz. I can't explain it. I've never asked around and I probably will someday, but I wonder if the guy is bi-polar or suffering from some sort of mental disease. He went from being absolutely brilliant to being absolutely dumb, literally overnight.

Norv's weird. I don't know how that guy keeps getting hired in the NFL, especially when guys like Buddy Ryan and Marty and Sam Wyche or even Al Saunders, can't. His only true success was with Dallas during the Glory Years and since then, he's been living off of his reputation.

Hey, more power to him but I just don't get it.

They've lost my money. But some **** will gladly step in my place, so that doesn't matter anyhow.

While Martz is generally considered a good OC Alex Smith never played a down in the regular season for him. He was on IR the entire year.

The other fallacy is that all of you would be happy with the chiefs simply for trying, even if Geno was a bust. Total BS. You'd bash them for wasting the first round pick when they could have had ( insert whatever player is a future pro bowler).

GloryDayz 03-13-2013 08:45 PM

Is the Hall of Fame Smith is headed to as awesome as the CP Hall of Classics?
