I don't see the Chiefs signing him a deal, this would be a rental.

And Seattle would probably get a 3rd or 4th round comp pick for him so they definitely want a second I'd say.

Wha kind of deal is a 29 year old safety looking for?

**** it.

Let's trade one 2nd round pick for Earl Thomas, and see if Arizona will take the other for Patrick Pederson.

ALL IN.

Now this I can really get behind. Go all MLB on that ass.

The same type of deal Berry was looking for probably..tons of guys make more than him now so that's his issue.

If the Chiefs are merely showing interest, then I think an extension is inevitable. He has been a headache for the Seahawks this year and it’s all because they won’t give him an extension. If we trade for him and don’t extend him, we are essentially trading for Seattle’s headache... I’d be willing to bet that any team showing interest, has intentions of signing him to an extension... otherwise, they will be trading for a year of butthurt and drama.

The guy does deserve what he's asking for, Seattle has a ton of money and won't pay him. He's been an elite player forever.

If we wanted a Seattle safety we should have kept Bradley McDougald, when we had him!

I'm not sure we can afford the Earl Of Whack.

Wish we could, though.

Similar structure as the Watkins deal is fine.

Low cap hit year 1, medium cap hit year 2 ($12 million), big cap hit year 3 ($17 million) with a way out

Hell yeah...a second team all pro just last year! Which means he was 1st team all pro 3 times between 2010-2016 (and 2nd team all pro another one of those years). There is still has in the tank here.

The Chiefs gain something like 18 million back of dead money thats on the books this year, if you are walking away on Bailey Houston and Ford which is likely you can sign Thomas to a 4 or 5 year deal and be fine.

Matter of fact it's probably the smart thing to do because he's likely to be productive longer than Berry. So you still have a vet leader when you walk on Berry in 2 years.

I’ve been wondering about how they free up the money...I think we may end up trading a player to them along with a pick...

You ask team hero Eric Berry to restructure his contract...either that or you ask Kelce to do it since he is in no danger of being cut anytime soon and his number is pretty big this year..Fisher is the other option of doing one.

That's really the only way you could make it happen. Heavy guaranteed dollars up front, too.
