This year, then it's 18-19 per. Williams is going to want more than a 1-year contract. I know, kick the can and all that, plus you got a way out of the Clark deal next year with some space but it's still going to be a lot of money.

They can convert Mahomes roster bonus again if they want to.

$16 mill is not an overpayment... especially where the Cap is headed. We got a top 5 player at his position.

Yep.

The dude has never missed a game in his career and in the last 3 years has given up like 3 sacks and only 3 penalties.

It's a HUGE upgrade.

I bet he gets at least 2 all pros over the course of these next 5 years. This is probably the best lineman Mahomes has ever had block for him.

I don't even know that you can upgrade past Thuney, seriously... at least in this blocking scheme and offense. He's Kobe Beef A5. Everyone else is just Grade A Prime Black Angus at most.

Schwartz was pretty incredible at RT the two years prior to this year. That level of play is hard to beat.

Thuney is a great pickup though. Very encouraging move.

Begs the question, what is most important for a Patrick mahomes OL? We don't have a great record without Eric fisher but is that because fishers backups have been atrocious? Seems to me our biggest weakness has been complete inability to run the ball in short yardage and when the pocket pushes into mahomes especially considering how much he drifts. Not to mention all the tipped passes this year. So I like focusing on the interior.

Now that we have a really solid interior how important are the tackles? Are they must haves or can we settle for decent?
