in other words, it doesn't really matter which QB they put out there. It's all the weapons and the defense. The QB is literally an afterthought. Not a handful of NFL playoff teams can say that. Maybe just this one.

Counter-point: Purdy is as much a reason as any that the 49ers have looked strong the last portion of the season. As such, they need him to replicate his regular season play to sustain success in the playoffs. And again...just close your eyes and think of all those Chiefs elite defenses with generic QB at the helm. If Purdy becomes something, that's a fantastic story. Right now...I see a QB on par with DeBerg, Krieg, Bono, Grbac.
