Who is this guy and why should we believe him?

Dude....where are we getting the cap space for that? The only way that we could make that work is if they either plan on dumping Thuney next offseason or they plan to trade Chris Jones. You aren't paying your LT, LG and RT that much money and fielding a capable team.

I'd say Thuney is probably gone either way after this season right?

The issue is that it would have to be a Post June 1st cut or trade. And then you'd better have a damn good plan for his backup because he's been one of the best, if not the best, offensive lineman that we've had.

Aaron Wilson is legit and a Texans reporter. Formerly a ravens reporter

Yeah, true.

Kinda thought they might extend him this offseason to bring his cap number down TBH.

They always have the convert Mahomes contract option to open up a shit ton of space

Why would they extend him? He's still under contract through 2025. Did you mean restructure him? I wouldn't touch his deal period. His cap hits are already big enough after this offseason and we need to be able to get out of his contract after 2024 if we need too.

The salary cap is a myth.

Yes, restructure sorry.

I don't really see his play dropping off and I would imagine they'd prioritize him over Trey Smith if it came down to it.

Of course...but you also can't just keep doing that every year. And right now, you have to factor in a Jones extension and how it affects the cap next year while moving forward.

It's going to be tough to field a team when you have the top contracts in the league for QB, LT, LG, RT and DT.

Hoover 03-14-2023 08:55 AM

You have a two year window right now. Where you have a hard running cheap rb, the best TE in the world, the best QB in the world, and you could have the best OL in the world.

****ing go for it. Stay cheap at WR and CB

Draft like your ass depends on it.
