One note about Wiemer that I haven't seen mentioned: he's been terrible against righties but he has had very good success against lefties so far. He has a .780 OPS against them in the majors and has more home runs against them than against righties despite 160 fewer plate appearances. This makes me think they were looking for a platoon guy who can play vs lefties and hopefully he fits the bill.

Finally a guy that can get on base in front of Witt! Love this trade.

All of the talent in the world, and when he was on he had #1 type stuff. But, any sort of adversity he just crumbled. The most infuriating pitcher I've ever watched. Good riddance. |
Nice trade. Leadoff hitter for sure. And a platoon player for the OF.

I would have preferred Steven Bangladesh or Robert Singapore but this is still good.

Brady reminded me a lot of Keller. Talented, but not able to focus an pitch his way out of trouble. I think the staff will be better without him. And we really need help in position players. I remember watching India when the Reds played here last year, and he's a good player. He'll impact the team daily too. Good trade.

Singer didn't miss a start last year. It's a good trade because the Royals needed offense and an on-base guy, but let's not act like they didn't have to give up someone good to get India. They did. Their pitching depth took a hit. |
Really, really like this move. The positives of a career .350 obp guy in front of Bobby well outweighs the negative of hoping Brady finally figures it out. He may, he may not, but you can't waste Bobby's years hoping for it.

It would appear Brady had a hangup about pitching at night last season, as he was 7-3 in day games but 2-10 in night games.

Looking at India’s defensive profile, I think it’s more likely he moves to LF than moving back to 3B.
