There's two interesting tales here. On the one hand, it is pretty shitty for him to get this kind of usage during a contract year. If they didn't intend to use him, then why trade for him? Best career move for him would have been to continue to produce big for a bad team. This isn't a dhop situation where the dude was fed up with the QB play. At the same time diontae is obviously handling this like a 5 year old after acting like a child in Pittsburgh. The funny thing is he was actually a pretty good soldier for a shitty team in carolina and at the time looked like he was getting his act together.

LMAO What? No, he was being a **** in Carolina like he has been everywhere else.

Because they didn't want the Chiefs to get him. The Ravens didn't need additional weapons in the passing game.

Should the Chiefs kick the tires?

I would have said yes before the Ravens trade. Not now. He's proven beyond a doubt that he's a head case.

He got his bag.

Should just buy a home on the coast and live the life

Absolutely not.

Once upon a time? Sure. But with Hollywood coming back, Hopkins filling out a role, and Worthy starting to show he understands the offense, I don't think we really have many snaps to go around for a disgruntled wannabe starter.

UChieffyBugger 12-20-2024 05:20 PM

I would take a chance on him with an eye on next season.

Juju
Hopkins
Hardman
Watson
Brown
Washington
Ross
Remigio

Are all free agents at the end of this season right? We might be able to get Johnson on a modest deal right now and for the rest of this season he can learn the system and rebuild himself next year. I also think he could be useful in some scenarios this season aswell.

This is what Veach does. He takes advantage of opportunities when presented. Johnson wasn't a trouble maker with the Steelers or Panthers from what i gather. So why judge him solely for his time with the Ravens when it's clear he's been totally underused?

Our own Charles Omenihu got traded after having issues with the Texans. Then the Niners allowed him to walk and he had a domestic issue hanging over his head. Veach still signed him. So why should we write off Johnson?

FloridaMan88 12-20-2024 05:27 PM

The Chiefs were very interested in trading for him this past offseason.

Presumably they knew he was a headcase when they pursued him.

Dunerdr 12-20-2024 05:28 PM

I’d practice squad him.

htismaqe 12-20-2024 05:30 PM

He's gotta clear waivers and we are dead last. So they probably won't even have a shot at him.
