Wow go Royals, Hosmer picked a good time to get out of his slump.

Astros you could hear a pin drop, in that ballpark......

Some shity calls by the Ump but it all worked out, wish I was in KC for game 5.

I wouldn't be surprised. Probably only in relief but who knows, crazier things have happened.

I love it when the Royals make me look stupid. When it was 6-2, I left for a haircut and shower. I came back and it was 7-6. I'm prepared to do the same thing on Wednesday.

Young, Medlen both available to bail him out.

Perhaps pitching two game-like innings in the bullpen before the game starts might help if they're not going to expect him to go more than 4 innings.

I mean, it's not exactly chicken littling when you statistically have a 6% chance of winning, not even accounting for intangibles like lifeless eyes and limp dicks. I think it's just being a realist. It's a way to avoid feeling crushed when what seems inevitable finally happens.

Congrats on a GREAT win! I was at the game and don't mind losing to the Royals. They are a good team that plays the game how it was meant to be played and are class winners. Nothing like the '83 Phillies, '86 Mets and '05 Cards (Led at the time by Mogilla the GORILLA) cuz those teams were full of dickheads. Be PROUD and BELIEVE in your team, cuz they sure did NOT give up on themselves as MANY of you GAVE UP ON THEM. Off to KC now for a 5th and final game where ANYTHING can happen. Its the way baseball was meant to be played!

GO ASTROS!

I agree, that was my point... this is NOT the game to complain about people "giving up" once the Astros extended their lead, outside of maybe people turning off the game, which would be dumb if you've watched the Royals in the past couple seasons.

The Royals were, by all accounts, done at 6-2... and the worst possible thing happens, with someone who had struck out twice on 6 pitches has to come to bat again because of the bullshit knock-Gore-off-the-bag..... and he singles and walks in that inning.

Baseball is so random.

Hootie 10-12-2015 03:58 PM

I am not even kidding here ... what keeps Ned Yost from using Wade Davis in game 5 like the Giants used Bumgarner last year?

Say it's top 6 ... we're up 2-1 ... and Cueto puts guys in 1st and 2nd with 1 out ...

why would Ned let Davis go until his wheels fell off? Are you telling me that badass couldn't do it? And worse case scenario ... come the 8th, Davis walks 2 guys and looks gassed ... do we suddenly not have Herrera / Madson / Duffy / Hochever available? Obviously not ideal ... but you're telling me Herrera couldn't pitch 4 innings in that spot?

I'd use Davis like the Cubs will use Arrieta in game 5. Plan on Davis pitching 9 outs ... 7, 8 and 9. No ****ing joke. That's how DOMINANT Wade Davis is. And he pitched 2 innings like it was nothing today. There is no reason that badass mother ****er couldn't get you 9 outs in an elimination game.

People should stop saying "give up" unless you're talking to someone who stopped watching... because there's no other way a fan can "give up."

Anyway, I'd say the Wild Card game was different... that was almost a classic KC way of losing a game, but I didn't see what I saw out of the players today.

Watch Cain, Gordon, etc; at the plate and really tell me you shrugged at 6-2 and though, yeah, they're fine... there's still time. Down 1? Sure, a pop up in that stadium can tie it.

But to string together an inning like that? Yeah, I was skeptical.

1.6% seems totally right

all of us had every right to go full Pete today

but the Royals, the most resilient ****ing team in baseball history, showed us once again ... they aren't done until the ump signals the 27th out

even in WS Game 7 ... they fought until the last damn pitch

Don't defend yourself. I am as optimistic as they come with this team and I conceded defeat. No way that should have happened.

Just goes to show you what kind of fight these core guys have. Amazing.
