Our outfield would be below average at the corners (mainly due to Ozuna’s arm, that looks like it is duct-taped on now), but overall we are better off. Martinez at first, Carpenter at 2B, should be emergency situations. |
I'm for doing anything to get fowler off the feild. Dude sucks.
|
Thus home plate umpire today sucks really bad. It’s bad for both teams. Pitches in the same location are a strike or ball depending on his whim l guess.

I hope this ump gets hit by a bus.

Ump issues aside, Martinez doesn’t look right yet. Seems like he was rushed back.

Martinez had that strikeout for the 3rd out. It wasn’t even close or borderline. They scored 3 runs after that missed call. |

Regarding Martinez, the same thing happened to Mayers in the 8th yesterday. Umps were shit in this series. |
The 18-year-old Gorman was the first player born in the 2000s to be drafted. He's known for his power potential and won multiple home run derbies in high school.
Gorman will report to the rookie-ball affiliate Johnson City Cardinals on Wednesday. They finally draft some high school power talent. Doesn’t matter if it works out in 4 years. Keep drafting and eventually you will get a power bat. —————————————————————— Holland struggles continue Greg Holland blew a save at AAA Memphis on Monday, allowing three earned runs in an inning pitched. Holland is on the 10-day disabled list with a right hip impingement and has made three rehab appearances in Memphis. "He was still not at that point where we can find a place for him," President of Baseball Operations John Mozeliak said. You think Mo? :shake: |

Martinez continuing with the hot bat.

So what is the deal with this Poncedeleon kid that we called up today? Other than the fact that he was almost killed one year ago.

Fowler -- if he is in the lineup Tuesday -- would step into the batter's box as one of the worst regularly-appearing hitters in the majors this season.
Of the league's 159 qualifying hitters, he ranks 157th in average (.173), 148th in on-base percentage (.276) and 157th in slugging percentage (.286). The switch-hitter is now slashing .191/.287/.329 against righthanded pitching. Against southpaws, he's worse, slashing .091/.225/.091. |
Damn, that’s a big punch in the gut.
Cardinals starting pitcher Alex Reyes told reporters Tuesday his one-year-old daughter is battling cancer. Reyes, who recently found out he will miss the rest of the season with a torn tendon in his right shoulder, said his daughter Aleyka was diagnosed with the disease when she was five months old. |

Turdy Pham has k'd 36 times in his last 119 ABs. Hit .195 in May and .227 over the last month.....pathetic

I saw a stat on the broadcast that in the month of June Martinez and Ozuma are hitting .435. The rest of the team .180. Fowler doesn't look any closer to being able to hit a ball than the first of the year. Bader leads the team in WAR and defensive runs saved. If you are really trying to win each game, Bader has to start. He falls off the cliff being exposed as a starter, then bench him. This isn't rocket science. |

Our team looks like they've already given up on the season. :( |

Heyturd blows. It's hilarious watching Cub fans jerk off to him being an average hitter this year.
|
Quote:
Rather pay Heyward $23M for 1 WAR than Molina $20M for 0 or Fowler $16.5M for -1.3. |
Quote:
Dumb. |
Quote:
I mean it must suck paying him $20M and Fowler $16.5M to give you less WAR the the Cubs get from their designated pinch hitter Tommy La Stella. Like I said before the season even started Molina has been a below average hitter 2 out of the last 3 seasons and he's currently on pace to make that 3/4. He still had his defense going for him but it's starting to show decline as well with throwing out below league average runners in 2016 and so far in 2018, with his pitch framing putting him at +8 calls on the season which is good for 19th in the league with guys like Grandall sitting at #1 with +57. |

Any thoughts on Joe Girardi replacing bonehead next season?

Hurdle is absolutely better than Matheny. Matheny is the worst manager in baseball. Quote:
Would be a great upgrade. But you’d have to get DeWitt over his love and support of Matheny first... |

So the Brewers can hold onto first place in the division, Go Cardinals

But, the Cubs , who are definitely considered rivals by most that post in here, still get along with JD1020. Every once in a while some Royals fan will drive by and talk trash and huff and puff that the Royals are our rivals. They are outliers. Most Royals fans are cool dudes. All in all it’s usually a pretty laid back thread. |

Give me anyone. We should picket Dewitt’s home and office until he quits giving the man love to Matheny. |
Just mental error after mental error with this team.

I consider the Cardinals our NL Central rivals since you guys have been the most successful team in the division during my years of fandom. Technically, I hate the Phillies the most but the divisional realignment sunked that rivalry. Screw the Cubs! |
I just hope the Brewers win the division.
|
This stretch of games this team is getting ready to go through is going to get ugly. They are playing some really good teams and possibly could end up below .500. If this team is at or under .500 at the all-star break the hometown fans are finally going to be frustrated enough that we might finally have some pressure on meathead.

Someone care to explain to me why Matheny is hitting Yadi third in front of Ozuna when he's been one of the best hitters in baseball for the last four weeks?
|
At least Yadi didn't GIDP and end up costing the Cards a run there.
|
This umpire is complete shit.
|
That might have been the worst at bat of Wongs career, which is saying something.

Just DFA the mother****er.

Why do I even waste my time.

This team is terrible. Fire eveyone

Heyward had to love that.

Not even mad. This teams identity is AIDS.
