Tried telling everyone he would be too expensive for us

Yea if it’s been this long I find it hard to imagine they’re very close, but we’ll see.

I honestly think we’re going to sign Reiff or trade for somebody like Dillard.

Either way, I’m not too concerned because I have full confidence that they have a plan for LT.

Dante84 03-14-2021 12:35 PM

Why wouldn’t Williams wait until FA opens and gauge his market price?

Stop posting that bullshit account. They can’t even spell names correctly.

I find it hard to believe they’d let fisher and Schwartz go without something in hand or a good idea atleast

Yeah, we'll see on Williams. Rumors are rumors. Will be fun to follow today. The 49ers are bringing the best deal they can to the table today, in all likelihood. They know this is the last chance, really. If he makes it to the open market he isn't making it back to them.

He already knows his market price. He already knows what teams are interested and what contract they'd give him.

With 7 mil allocated to rookies, Veach as he currently stands only has 5 mil to play with and everyone is assuming we will tender Ward so that’s another 4.3 mil gone. Veach will have 700K to play with

You do realize draft picks dont count until they sign which won't be until after several months of free agency...

So there is a legit 13 mil available right now to go get guys.

And this is supposed to be breaking news?

What’s that? A team is working to bring back the #1 LT on the market before free agency? Stop the presses!

It’s already been reported that Williams wants to see what he can get in FA. So unless the 49ers are offering him a 5 year deal and $20 million plus a year....they aren’t signing him before Wednesday.

Because of the risk involved.

If the 49ers offer him a competitive package but instead, he decides to test free agency, it's possible that the 49ers move on while other teams may not offer as much in guaranteed money, salary or contract length.

I don’t see the 49ers moving on me from their package if he gets offers on day one from other teams.

The 49ers may also elect to let him go. He’s 33 and they can grab an OT in this draft at #13 if they want. Someone like Darrisaw or Slater.
