Danny Manning's Tulsa into the tournament with a win over favored Louisiana Tech.

That team's recent success is nothing short of incredible. They won 11 straight, claimed a share of their first conference title since 2002, and are now going to the big dance.

Good for Danny and his team (the fanbase is already begging for a longterm extension).

I remember how much Cincinnati got punished on the line when Kenyon Martin broke his leg. With your resume, and without Embiid, Kansas should probably be a #4 seed, although it wouldn't surprise me if you ended up with a high 3.

Shut up moron. You know nothing of which you speak. 4-seed? JFC.

Wish he was still at KU but that's totally selfish. Good for manning.

And considering Tulsa was 4-9 at one point....
Amazing job by Danny and his team.....

FWIW, Lunardi has KU as a #2 seed in the West region.

KC_Connection 03-15-2014 01:52 PM

Ohio State was doing great in that Michigan game until Craft came back in from foul trouble and completely blew it for them. I'd love another chance for KU to beat him before his career ends.

Silock 03-15-2014 02:10 PM

Ohio State: Oops, I Craft my pants!

@jeffborzello: Based on Dan Gavitt's interview with CBS crew, Joel Embiid's injury seems to be a big topic of conversation surrounding bracket selection.

That's some bullshit

Why wouldn't it be? Most impactful player on one of the country's best teams is going to be missing.

I can't see how KU isn't a #2 with or without Embiid. I suppose you could argue that they could be a #1 but it's tough to see what the committee is "conversing" about.

They'll be #2 in the West.

DJay23 03-15-2014 04:51 PM

The problem for the selection committee isn't so much that Embiid is hurt, but whether he will come back. If they are thinking of giving KU the Cincinnati treatment it would only make sense if Embiid is definitely out for the whole tournament. If he does come back, say the second weekend should we advance, then KU is a one seed type team at that point. At least that's where we were in a lot of the predictions before he was shut down this most recent time.

TribalElder 03-15-2014 04:56 PM

Would they really assume a player will come back the next weekend. That would assume the team will advance without him right

Ceej 03-15-2014 05:04 PM

This year has to be as open as it ever has been in open in recent memory.

But, this should be Florida's to lose, right?
