Such a sad fan base. You know that believe that too.

WTF Bill? Letting your "regulars", who aren't playing worth a shit no matter who is on the court, decide what big men should be playing is ridiculous. What happened to Self's balls? I thought he made the decisions? I could understand if players of the caliber of Rush, Chalmers, McLemore, Wiggins, etc. told him they played better with certain bigs, but letting guys like Mason and Selden call the shots is just flat out stupid.

He was already benching Diallo and Bragg because they can't guard their own shadows (among other issues), so I don't see how this changed anything.

Prison Bitch 01-27-2016 11:31 AM

Oh. And you have proof of this, right?

Who is responsible for finding better players? I think Self is a great coach and recruiter. So why has our recruiting classes been down the last 3 years or so?

Even if this is true that the players wanted Lucas and Traylor to play more. Self should be confident enough in his position to tell them to **** off, I'm the coach.

whether the story is true or not, its obvious that Lucas and Traylor are playing more at the expense of Bragg, Diallo and Michelson for whatever reason.

The last three classes* have had:

Andrew Wiggins (#1 overall pick)
Joel Embiid (#3 overall pick)
Wayne Selden (14th overall recruit)
Cliff Alexander (3rd overall recruit)
Kelly Oubre (11th overall recruit)
Check Diallo (7th overall recruit)
Carlton Bragg (top 25 recruit)
Brannen Greene (4 star)
Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk (N/A)
Frank Mason (3 star)
Devonte Graham (4 star)

I'm sorry we don't have Brandon Ingram and Isaiah Briscoe on this team, but we are ranked higher than Duke, UNC, and Kentucky, who all had "better" recruiting classes. I simply don't understand this line of thinking. Our lowest ranked player (not counting Svi) was Frank Mason, and I think we can all agree at least that he doesn't play like a 3 star recruit.

*All rankings ESPN

I want to see some god damn size. Our center should never be shorter than 6'10".

Wiggins/Embiid were probably the two best pro prospects KU has had in the Self era. That was 2 years ago.

Proof of Self benching Diallo and Bragg? Has he not been doing it for months?

I understand we still get top recruits. I was pointing out that for whatever reason, none of them were able to beat out Ellis. None were able to help this team win a National Championship. None were a part of a "team" approach. Again, why hasn't that happened? I'm not saying I know the answer, just asking the question.

Don't evade the question.

No idea what you're on about this time. According to the story, didn't the players just recommend to do what he was already doing (playing Lucas/Traylor, benching Diallo/Bragg)?

If you can't back up an assertion, no point making it.

What assertion? Is this like some new confusing troll job?
