PAPILLION, Neb. – First baseman Nick Pratto was selected to play in the Sirius XM All-Star Futures Game for the second time in his career. The Huntington Beach native was drafted 14th overall in 2017 by the Royals out of high school.

Pratto selected to the 40-man roster following last season. He started the 2022 season with the Omaha Storm Chasers. This season, Pratto is playing first base primarily but has spent some time in the outfield and as the designated hitter.

Pratto had a 14-game on-base streak ended on July 3. He has hit 15 home runs with 45 RBIs through his first 70 games this season. Pratto has stolen eight bases and has only been caught once, as the Omaha Storm Chasers hold one of the best stolen base percentages in the International League.

Well, Eric Skoglund has an 8.74 era. But he didn't give up a run in his last inning so things are really looking up.

It has been … not great … for guys that are considered close-ish to MLB.
