When was his other concussion? And I don't think I need to study about concussions. If one is an NFL fan then they've learned all about concussions pretty recently.

O.city 08-07-2013 12:48 PM

Iirc he had one last year and one in 2011. May have been 2010, not totally sure.

But with te new insight into concussions, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it comes to the poit where a 3 one means your done in the league.

This. End...of ****ing...discussion. Clay has put forth valid reasons for being leery of EVERY goddamn move this team makes, and some of you idiots want to call that being a pussy or a bitch?

You don't know your dick from a mother****ing stick, assuming you have one(yes, Mac-Niners I'm referencing your crusty vagina, thank you.)

Lol @ those questions. You could make those questions about ANY team in the league.

That's just a bunch of hopeful homerism.

What has Andy Reid done lately?
5 NFL Championship game appearances in 14 years. It's not like it's ancient history.
Is Jeff Allen good at LG?
Seriously? That's your big question mark?
Can Dante Robinson cover anyone?
He's a nickel corner. I think he'll be okay. Also, bump and run would seem to be his forte, which is not what he was asked to do the last couple of years.
Can Sean Smith cover good receivers?
Sure, he's built for man coverage. Last couple of years, he's been mostly in zone, and underperformed. Sure to be better than last year, yes?
Can Berry cover good tight ends and keep us from giving up big plays?
If he's allowed to actually pick them up off the line, then I would think that would be a bonus, rather than having to sit back and wait till the guy comes into his zone. I think he can run with them. Don't you?
Who will play FS? Worst case scenario is that we've stood pat. Best case is that we have two guys that can play it better than last year.
Will Eric Fisher get up to NFL speed quick enough to prevent injuries to guys behind him?
There's no reason to think not.
Will Rodney Hudson start to play at a high level and trust that his injury is healed?
Guys get hurt, guys get better, guys move on. Why wouldn't he?
Will the DL be able to get a push? Well, they'll actually be allowed to for a change.
My guess is we'll see more than last year just based on scheme.

Will Houston and Hali stay healthy?
Again, why wouldn't they? If you want to play THAT game, you could pick holes in any team in football.
Will Alex Smith play the best football of his life and avoid injury?
If he just does what he did the last two years and stay healthy, this is a playoff team.
Will Knile Davis fumble as much as last year in college?
I certainly hope not.
Will Charles stay healthy?
He's had one injury his whole life, and he put up almost 1500 yards the next season. Why wouldn't he?
Who will step up at WR2?
This offense will spread the ball around. Charles may well be your #2 in catches, ala Westbrook.
Who will step up as the slot receiver?
I wait with baited breath, as does every team in football other than Denver.
Will Dexter be able to hold onto the ball?
He's a bit player until he shows different. I don't see this as a pressing concern.

To act as if all this teams issues have disappeared is just plain silly homerism.

I don't think anyone would suggest that all of the team's issues have disappeared. I also don't think there are any teams in the league that don't have question marks.

Probably. They were close games.

That had to be something they tested for...

Suffice to say, I'm much more worried about him being a limited game manager than I am him being a concussion waiting to happen.

All it would take is another blow to his head and it doesn't matter what kind of intell they have on his concussions. A person with a history of concussions are more prone to getting them and even with less amount of force to cause them. It can affect his play much like it did Trent Greens.

And I think the medical staff is probably aware of that in much more detail than you are. That's my point.

I agree with most of that.

I'd say that half of our problems have been addressed, if not corrected...a lot less than the 95% Marcellus was saying.

What it all boils down to is how well Alex Smith plays in meaningful games. This team will go as far as Alex will take them and I think anywhere from 5-11 wins is possible.

I'll even push it a step further...if Alex Smith can give us what Trent Green did, we can probably beat any team in the league. Regular or post season.

He would need to develop an ability to ignore the rush and test defenses deep more than he ever has, though.

If they want concussions to be reported by the players then making rules like 3 concussions and your retired isn't going to work. The players want to play.
