Berry may very well not be affordable, and the Chiefs might simply not have the cap flexibility to re-sign him? No one actually knows. If I was Dorsey, I would rather tag him for a year and see how he does with a full season under his belt and another 16 months out from his remission to get a better lay of the land before deciding to hand out a big contract. It's certainly the more cautious and smarter play and in no way prevents you from still being able to offer a new contract when you have a better assessment of Berry . |

My wish list: Maclin Conley Streater Hill Brown Robinson if they think they can sneak Robinson onto the practice squad, replace him with Wilson. |
So how does that work with Streater?

LEAVING IT ALL ON THE FIELD, MOTHER****ER! Is your team logo stenciled on your Under Armor compression shirt in dirt after the game because you slid headfirst into home when you were down 6!?!? **** no it isn't!
Spoiler!
Eric Berry wouldn't have laid out for the ball that kept us from getting run ruled for one more inning like I did, hell no he wouldn't have. And he wouldn't have taken 2nd on an opposite field flare after we spotted the other guys 8 runs via 6 errors in the first inning BUT YOU BET YOUR ASS I DID! DEDICATION! Learn it, Eric Berry. |

But calling them LBTE, they were immediately applied to this year's cap. So we were carrying about a $5 million cap hit for Streater. Had he not earned them, we'd have gotten a credit for them in the off-season. By calling them UTBE, they aren't applied until the off-season. If he hits them, we're where we would've been without the credit under the above scenario; if he doesn't hit them, we're where we'd have been after getting the credit in the above scenario. In reality, it changes virtually nothing for next season but it does seem to keep us from having to make any moves to fit Foles onto this year's cap. Nice, but not world altering as I'd imagine those moves were probably going to happen anyway. |
