Stuff isn't the issue, it's Royals development with a volatile position.

I like the strategy of taking high projection HS pitchers after the first round.

His slider has 2,700 rpm spin and he has shown he can sweep it.

Have no clue on 66th pick but the MLB Network guys liked it.

Seems like a higher floor player with the pick there.

I mean, the Royals have been so godawful at drafting that their picks are going to be met with a healthy amount of skepticism, particularly because it feels like Dayton Moore Jr. is calling the shots.

I hope it works out, but when's the last big hitter or stud pitcher this franchise has produced? BWJ?

dlphg9 07-09-2023 10:38 PM

Bleh, another boring stupid draft.

Salvador is the last stud produced. Honestly this franchise has produced 2 studs since 2005. Salvy and Alex Gordon. This system has produced a few good/above average players in Moose and Hosmer and Ventura was good and Danny Duffy was good for a little bit.

How is BWJ not viewed as a draft success/stud by all the gurus on here? He’s on pace for 25 HRs, 50 SB, and 85 RBI in his second full MLB season. His defense has also improved this year. He’s only 23 years old.
