Anybody hear anything else about Charles? I can't imagine he'll suit up this weekend but sounds like he'll be on track for week 3.

Teicher on Petro's show said that he spoke to Reid about Tamba, and the reason he's not playing had nothing to do with the knee clean-up surgery, but that his knees are just bad knees and need all the rest they can get. So, methinks they're gonna need to watch Tamba's reps throughout the season. Nothing really new and exciting here, but it's the first I heard coaches suggest that this is going to pretty much be a chronic issue. FWIW.

Yep that is a great pic of you and Peters.

Nah.

That is Dr. Pepper/hometeam.

Peters signed his nutsack with colored markers after practice because Neil Smith already claimed the nipples.

T. JOSEPH
The Chiefs continued to up running back Jamaal Charles’ workload on Wednesday, as he stayed on the field for the install period after pre-practice warmups and stretching — a change from Tuesday.

But don’t expect them to rush their star back into action.

“He’s doing good — I’m not asking him to come out here and run for 300 yards today,” running backs coach Eric Bieniemy said. “It’s a process, and we just want to gradually get him back going.”

Bieniemy said trainer Rick Burkholder has done a nice job helping Charles rehab the torn ACL he suffered in October. Charles was just activated from the physically-unable-to-perform list Tuesday.

“We just want to make sure we’re doing it right and taking our time and making sure he’s ready,” Bieniemy said. “Now, he looks good — but I don’t want to rush him. I just want to make sure that he’s comfortable with where he’s at. We’ve just got to be patient.”

I believe that was the situation last year as well. He didn't practice much during the season, and they basically said it was to preserve his aging body.

Thankfully we signed him to an extension.

Yeah, Petro was wondering about that too. Probably just shows how weak we are at OLB what with Houston's situation, Ford's lack of production and a bunch of unproven other guys.

With enough guaranteed money that we'll almost certainly have him next year as well.

Huzzah!

Though really, the Houston thing absolutely screwed our pooch with Hali.

I'm sure they knew this would be the deal before they signed him to an extension, so I don't see much reason for concern.

Shut the **** up. It's a completely logical conclusion to come to.

I can't stand people like you on CP. You never have anything to really say about football, but yet you come off as you have a strong opinion or even a clue. Stick to your ****ing anti-football threads moron.

Yup. In my mind, 1/2 of a Tamba > 1 of a Dee Ford.

We DEFINITELY need one of our younger OLBs to show some real progress this year. I think this is bubbling up to maybe be the weakest position on the team. Who'da thunk???

If that's the case, it makes the extension even worse.

Bro, to say you have an outlook full of optimism would be a huge understatement. I enjoy reading football takes, but it's hard to take yours seriously because you've got like nine pairs of the red glasses on.
