Sal was one of the most consistent parts of the Royals lineup from 2013-2017.

I mean, he hits HRs but he literally only had one year in that range where he managed an OBP over .300. His career OPS+ is 98 with a .267/.298/.439 slash line. It's safe to say what makes Perez an All-Star when he's having a genuinely bad year is not his bat.

A C with an ops+ of 98 is way better than the typical C. (Collectively they're an 84 this season and avg 88 last 5 years).

Over the past 5 years Only Posey, Martin, Lucroy, Molina more valuable. Only Posey was way higher. Sal has been worth 2-3 net wins per year. Considering we made the WC by 2 games in 2014......

Perez’s offensive numbers also suffer from being continually played into the ground by Ned Yost. His second half numbers typically have cratered when KC has been good.

If used correctly - 4.5 games a week at catcher, 1 at DH, 1.5 off - his bat would hold up better over the course of the year, IMO.

This was much more eloquently succinct than what I was about to right. Rep.

I don't know, someone I know on facebook posted a pic saying "mouse's last at bat as a royal"

Interesting article on Bubba Starling and potential lack of motivation.

People were saying it was likely his last at bat in KC, as that was our last home game before the deadline.

Good read. I appreciate Quirk being brutally honest there.

I agree, time to move on from this chump

Yes, roll him out there every night and then, for the love of God, shoot him into the sun at the end of the season.

Before we get too carried away expecting too big of a return on Moose, apparently the Braves view him as a platoon or bench player.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I checked further on this. The <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Braves?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Braves</a> interest in Moustakas is minimal at best. They&#39;re happy with Camargo at 3B, and the deadline focus remains pitching. There&#39;s also the question of how Moustakas would adapt to a bench role. Barring an injury in Atlanta, there&#39;s no fit. <a href="https://t.co/s7ou8XFmNO">https://t.co/s7ou8XFmNO</a></p>&mdash; Jerry Crasnick (@jcrasnick) <a href="https://twitter.com/jcrasnick/status/1022195659200520192?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 25, 2018</a></blockquote>

Also, this guy exists.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I&#39;m just amazed that there are people out there that think the Royals won the WS because of some genius planning.
