ROFL Ah yes, of course. I spent a lot of money taking my wife to Sonoma last summer...I could have just driven to Springfield.:#

ROFL I'm not lying! I couldn't say if it's GOOD wine or not, but they DO make it there.

Well, the last I ever heard of someone setting foot on a vineyard there was in the early 80's, so things MAY have changed.

There's actually a place in Ozark behind Lambert's where you can taste some local wines and cheeses. There was no one in that section when I went in there last time, though.

ROFL I am sure. I spent wayyyy too many warm Friday afternoons after class at the winery west of Columbia. Les Bourgeois I think is what is was called. Good times.

if memory serves, there's a winery in branson... my father-in-law and his brother grow grapes an hour north of springfield and have made wine out of them (and it was halfway decent, fwiw), but I'm not sure I'd consider this area 'wine country.'

I've read that, at one point, missouri was PRIME wine country--as a matter of fact, when there were droughts in france the turn of last century (and wine-making grapes were dying off bigtime), they hybridized some of the grapes there with missouri vines... not sure if it's true, but I've read it...

Ever since 'Winky Dinky Dog' stopped selling Wine Hoecakes, the market just hasn't been there...:D

eh, I should go google it... too lazy though. and by 'turn of the last century,' I mean late 1800's into the early 1900's.

Anyway, back to the regularly scheduled sports thread.

MU/OSU. Proves to be a good game after today.

OSU has got a ton of momentum and playing well. But it will be their third game in three days. And Byron Eaton is rather Chase Daniel-like, I am questioning his stamina at this point.

I like out chances, but again, it depends on what MU team shows up.

I haven't paid much attention to OSU this year to know much about them.
