Thomas's game should age well as a safety in the mold of Eric Weddle, Ed Reed and Charles Woodson into his thirties. I think it would be a good investment.

You ask team hero Eric Berry to restructure his contract...either that or you ask Kelce to do it since he is in no danger of being cut anytime soon and his number is pretty big this year..Fisher is the other option of doing one.

I need some work on learning this contractual stuff.

You don’t think there’s a chance we trade one of our OLB’s? Is it possible we trade Ford or Houston and roll with Speaks, Kpass and Ford/Houston and whoever? Would they trade Allen Bailey?

That’s what I was saying earlier. Hell Woodson was like 39-40 when he retired. Thomas is 29...

No. Trading Bailey isn't helpful, there's nothing behind him and he's in his last year.

For a restructure you simply look for a guy with a huge cap number and you can push some money to the end by paying it to him now. If you want to cut a guy soon you don't do it..but if you say know for a fact that Travis Kelce is going to be here for 6 more years and you will likely sign him again after you restructure him and don't worry about it.

You're basically just pushing his cap hit into the future, you don't do that for a guy you want to get rid of though.

I mean after watching our defense, I could watch Ray Lewis play in a retirement home celebrity game and say "damn that dude has still got it." :D
