Bro, are you questioning Mahomes/Reid after what they’ve already shown us? Mahomes played 30 ****ing minutes of the worst football we’ve seen from him. Out of how many minutes of ELITE quarterback play he’s shown us. I don’t know what happened after half time, but that’s all in the past. What this team has shown me is they will rise above this loss. You can’t win it every year, there’s just too many variables, and too much parity. To play at the level this team has played at over the last 4 years is incredible. But they’re not done. This loss isn’t the end. You think Mahomes doesn’t come back with a vengeance? Fully healthy without the lingering turf toe injury?? His offseason will be filled with watching film and figuring out how to make his game better. He’s far from done.

Oh goody I am stoked STOKED I tell ya for week four he comes up with his first catch and a first down and pounds his chest **** YEAH. Then three weeks later does it TWICE IN THE SAME GAME TWO CATCHES FOR A FIRST DOWN I"M GOING PISS MYSELF. Oh, but the Holy Grail I can't wait for this guy to score a touchdown I just hope it's against the Raiders or Donkies.

If he gets a touchdown against the Broncos and Raiders I may just have to buy his jersey. Can you imagine this guy catching a dozen catches this season OMG!!

Pass rush.

The lack of it cost us this year and having it wins games. I don't think we need a CB or WR as badly as we do DE. Hell, if we don't resign Ingram we need two of them....

No doubt Melvin Ingram made an impact on our defense and I'm not sure we would have won the division without him because we got him and we started winning but our offense didn't do a lot of scoring. I really want to bring him back but he is 32 yo and I don't know how many years he can play at a high level. Now on the flip side Frank Uzi Clark is only 28 and no excuse for him not balling out that he should. I blame him for some of our troubles he was supposed to get sacks that Justin Houston wasn't getting but it was kind of same player. Moot.

I'm positive Veech will bring back Ingram and I'm almost more positive Frank Clark will be with a different team next year along with Dirty Dan but I'll always love both of them for their contributions for bringing us a Lombardi trophy.

I think it's important to look at WHY. Why did The Packers never make it back? Why did Seattle just fall apart? WHY?

In my opinion, several years of poor drafting along with a refusal from the coaching staff (especially Seattle) to adjust to NFL trends. When people catch up to your schemes, you need to adjust again.

We need some more drafts like this past one, and we need to keep adding new wrinkles, both offensively, and defensively.

There's no reason for KC to fade yet. In a couple of years, Kelce will slow down, and that's the first real alarm bell.

Time to re-load the defense, and get a WR2 and threat at RB. We're still in a really good position.

RunKC 02-06-2022 01:46 PM

Interesting. So he might have a similar philosophy as Spags. Wonder if we’ll be attacking DL in FA and corner early in the draft

He's aggressive. Comes from the Wink Martindale school of thought: invest in the secondary and bring the heat. Address with emphasis on these:

1. Defensive Line
Clark sucks and his contract is an albatross so he needs to go. Danna is okay in rotation but not a starter and the Chiefs have no other edge rushers. Basically, KC need 3 pass rushers.
Nnadi and Reed are both free agents. I like them as a pair but Veach should see what kind of bargains are available IMO. Saunders is also a free agent after 2022. They probably need a FA and to draft one.

2. Secondary
Mathieu is a goner and that's a concern. Sneed would make a perfect replacement but it's hard to justify moving him from CB at the same time. Sorensen is gone and I think Anderson is being groomed to replace him so that may be ok. Still need to address depth with Watts as a free agent as well.

Cornerback is a mixed bag. Ward being a free agent hurts and I'd love to see him back. Hughes is a turd and UFA as well. Baker is an ERFA so he should get tendered as depth. If the Chiefs don't bring Ward back they need two guys here and if they intend to move Sneed then it's 3.

3. Receivers
With Pringle, Robinson, and Kemp as free agents, they are going to have to make some moves to fill this in. Aside from that, they could use a bit more consistency. That Watson kid from Tampa Bay could very well make a good Kemp replacement. Need at least two receivers in some capacity. It'd be nice to have Pringle back as that #5/ST's guy and to compete to start but with the goal fill in the X with bit more.

4. Linebacker
Niemann and O'Daniel are free agents and Sorensen played that hybrid role so we'll have to see what they do here. With how much Niemann was on the field on 3rd down and otherwise, it doesn't seem like Spags trusts Gay to be in coverage that much. I'd really like to see a top-notch WLB come in via FA or the draft. You're still probably re-signing one or both of Niemann and O'Daniel as depth and for special teams.

I love this, except I would love to see the Chiefs add a running back like Rashaad White from ASU. I think that guy would actually give us an amazing RB threat that defenses would need to account for. They can drop 8, if they want to. But they'd have to deal with him ripping off 8 yard+ carries on the regular, including busting some open for long gains. Defenses have shown they have zero respect for our run game, high time we made them pay for it.

Ingram looked juicy AF after arriving here, I'd be totally comfortable with a 2 year deal in spite of his age

Because they know Andy wont call a run very often! McKinnon was the hot RB, and he didnt get used to his potential!

RunKC 02-07-2022 01:15 PM

We are so damn thin at DL and safety right now. Corner isn’t great either if we lose Ward.

I expect a lot of work to be done at those positions in the next 3 months.

RunKC 02-18-2022 09:48 AM

Frank Clark is only here for a few more weeks and we’re going to completely overhaul this DL as we expect. Absolutely perfect off-season for us to do this. Such a strong DE FA class

The Franchise 02-18-2022 09:52 AM

Not only is it a strong FA DE class....it's a strong draft class too.

comochiefsfan 02-18-2022 09:58 AM

Make no mistake.

The "1 sack game" on Burrow was the DL equivalent to the OL in the Super Bowl last year.

A complete embarrassment that is going to motivate Veach to make sure it never happens again. Anyone not named Chris Jones is going to be sent packing and we're going to get fresh hungry faces in here.

NFL games are won under center and in the trenches. Once the DL overhaul is complete we'll be elite in all those spots.
