I have no idea and Paylor's article indicated that he doesn't either, as the Chiefs don't discuss contract info.

But to me, the bottom line is that the Chiefs and Dorsey messed up because that $4 million could have been used elsewhere in order to bolster the roster.

Again, unless they're preparing to announce an extension with Poe, in which they give that $4 million or so to him, making his salary $10 million this season instead of $6 million, while making 2017's number substantially smaller.

I do wish they'd have invested a little more via the draft this year at olb, but I don't really remember if they had a chance.

What's the alternative? Get Tamba back on a contract that's closer to what they expect out of him going forward.

I just wonder if the Chiefs are trying a bit too hard to hold onto some of these more limited players like Zombo and Moses (or maybe they've invested a little too heavily in young LB depth with Alexander, Nicolas, March and Wilson all in a 2 year span).

The dire situation at OLB along with the plethora of good d-linemen and ILB type LBs makes me wonder if the Chiefs shouldn't try to run a modified 4-3 like Seattle's 2013 defense or Gunther's "Falcon" defense until Houston gets back instead of trying to shoehorn shitty OLBs into the current 3-4.

I mean, they can't make him sign a deal he doesn't want too.

They can go over right now though. They could've gone over the roster the limit to bolster the roster anyway, IIRC. My memory is that they have to pare it below the cap by a certain date and then when they expand rosters to allow for training camp and such, they're allowed to exceed it again.

They went over it to get Foles signed to begin with. Ultimately I don't think this had any impact at all.

And Dorsey isn't going to sign him to a starter deal when he's a brokedick rotational guy at best.

Also, I can't say it enough, we're going by Meatloaf's interpretation. Why hasn't Mr. doom and gloom Adam Teicher not reported this ANYWHERE else.

I saw a video of Tamba doing his MMA training with DJ a week before TC and he looked great.

On an entirely different note, I would like to see Sutton use DJ Alexander in the same role that he's used Berry and Abdullah in the box in subs.

Hasn't hali himself already said he needs to be a rotational player?

I think hali will be ok this year, hopefully he can stay together for next year.

Think he can run and keep up?

Id like to see them be able to keep March in on those downs. I think he can run and cover

Thanks for the vote of confidence. ROFL

Actually, Teicher said he had just spoken with Reid about it, so there probably hasn't been enough time for this to bubble up elsewhere? Also, thie fact that Tamba's condition is more or less chronic really isn't a surprise either as I suspect most of us felt that way the last year or two. Nonetheless, as reported by noted journalist, Meatloaf, this was the first he had heard about a coach implying such chronicity (I think I made up a word!).

He is our fastest LB. I agree though, I'd rather have March there.

I'm not denying something along those lines was said. I just like to see/hear the exact quote to get a better idea.

Sure, no problem at all. Always good to get the straight skinny when possible.
