I can tell you this is a good board to talk ku hoops. I don't consider myself negative at all, especially compared to Jayhawk fans on CP but youll get lynched on Scout if you question any player, any coach, or any decision made by the staff. The beauty of message boards is supposed to be sharing of opinions and insight not freaking out bcuz someone has a different viewpoint than you.

I will say this if this team is going to make a deep March/April run, Perry Ellis HAS to improve. It will be that time of year where's he's played/practiced enough that's he no freshman any longer. Kevin Young can eat up some mins a little bit but Withey isn't a dominating offensive force....someone down low has to pick up some slack.

He's a extremely weak back to the goal type of player. I think he's a boy playing w/ a bunch of men out there. He was very big fish in a very small pond in HS, now he's playing against much better talent and he no longer can use his poor mechanics and dominate.

He's in my shit house right now. I can't believe he was a top McD's guy.

Your expectations are way too high. Five star freshmen are still freshmen. He will be fine. Just not this year early. He's been far improved as the season has gone along. He'll be fine.

I lurk on phog.net just because there's a lot more info to be gathered there, but you're right, I don't post there because I don't want to get into a pissing match with another KU fan who can't be objective. Here we seem to have a small core of guys who all sort of gather around for the games and occasionally talk about stuff in between. As long as we understand that people are allowed to have their own opinions, this is the best place to discuss KU hoops for me.

I just know we can play a lot better than we have and I really want us to do that... to reach our potential. A KU title means more to me than just about anything. You should have seen me the 2 times we've won it all in my lifetime. No one is happier than me. I want it so bad I probably obsess too much about our shortcomings once it comes tourney time. During the regular season I forgive and hope... but this year just feels different. This team feels like it can be really special if they clean it up. Just clean it up for the love of GOD!

Since 2010 I've gotten so tight leading in to March. I get grouchy and I feel physical evidence of stress. It's ridiculous. I'm a grown man, I shouldn't get this worked up, but damnit I love KU basketball. I think the combination of making the title game last year and some other much more difficult personal shit happening right now have calmed me because I feel a lot more...zen about KU right now. I know they aren't playing their best right now, but I'm excited to see them put together a game like against Colorado again. It's going to happen, and just at the right time.

The loss to Northern Iowa in 2010 was the worst for me. That team should have steamrolled to the title, plus Sherron might be my all time favorite Hawk. I took that loss harder than any other loss of any of my favorite teams (the loss to the Dolphins in the playoffs in '90 is probably 2nd. Damnit I was so upset after that). I didn't watch basketball until the title game, and only then I watched the second half.

Man, he's not that bad. He's got some really good moves down there. But it has taken him awhile to get used to the physical play. He's not a physical beast like Robinson was, but right now, he's playing one hell of a lot better than Robinson was at this stage in his career. The last few games, he has been scoring some points and doing really well on the boards IMO.

The fact is he didn't go to a prep school or some place that he went for D-I prep. He played Kansas High School Ball. I mean FFS, my HS in the middle of bum****nowhere played against Frankamp's team that was a constant opponent of Eliis' a few weeks ago, and took them to overtime. Lets be real here. SCHS isn't necessarily good training for D-I players.

I'm with Silock. Your expectations were a little high. I'd scale them back some with Frankamp.

Hey man, sorry about your personal stuff. But I was all zen with last years team. I looked up and down the roster and thought there's no way they win the conference, much less do ANYTHING in the tournament. I had no idea Robinson would be the best player in the nation, and Withey would do what the NPOY winner did better than the NPOY winner. I expected a lot out of TT, and while he did surpass my expectations, nothing like Robinson and Withey. My god Withey could barely walk the year before.

So yeah, there was a LOT of icing on the cake for me last year. And I think I'm a little more worked up about this years team, it is nothing like the 08 team in terms of being "due".

Were you in grade school during 1997 & 1998?

Why not? KU has the best recruits every year in the league, why shouldn't they win it every year?

This pic was from today. This guy was messing around in AFH and captured this pic of BMac shooting around by himself.

Still feel less confident?

They should turn the lights on for him.

Watching Syracuse at Pitt is like watching paint dry.

I don't think he wanted anyone to know he was in there.

I'm not back through all the arguing, so I'll just say.....EJ is playing out of position. He's a 2 guard playing point.

No, I was a student at KU. But there was too much else going on at that time to get that upset about a game. Even with everyone around me pissed/depressed about it I was too focused on studying and work to let basketball affect me. Now that I'm a professional and work stays at work and doesn't come home like school often does, it's different.
