A 1st rounder is essential. Hopefully conditions are attainable (starts/snaps). Having a 5th year option drafted player is important.

Will any of them be the kind of player Peters is? Probably not... but I do believe in Veach. And I bet he could get at least 2 big contributors from those picks. Players who will play hard and not be a complete pain in the ass to work with, and will embrace being here.

The first thing he ever told me before I heard about it here or anywhere else was the Pat Surtain deal. He also knew about Dorsey before I heard it anywhere but I thought he was full of shit. A couple days before Smith was traded he told me "something huge was going to happen very soon" but that's all his buddy would say.

He's been wrong a couple of times too though. He said Emmanuel Sanders was signed a few years ago and that no QB's were even on our radar before last year's draft.
