The guys in the draft forum know how much I love Bateman and Marshall. Either would be an awesome option at 31 should the Chiefs handle LT in FA or via trade.

Yup.

The Patriots pick 15th.
That's out of reach for the Chiefs. |
The Pats?... Nah. They really need to get a QB and Mac Jones is made for Bill.

Throwing my hat in on Bateman as well. 6'2 220 and runs a 4.3, great hands, blocks well. He's Sammy v2 and I have no problem trading one of our seconds to move up to get him.
I also like Terrace Marshall though, just not as much. |

He had the pleasure of drafting low at the position from day 1 when he had Bledsoe. He lucked into Brady being an all-time great, then was able to continue to draft low at the position for 20 years. He doesn't have time to waste nor a QB of Bledsoe's caliber, much less Brady's caliber, starting for him. He knows he can win with smart and accurate and Jones is both. I don't think he bets the farm on Jones being there later and I really don't think he settles for Kyle Trask or David Mills. It's entirely possible he doesn't draft any of them, but it's just another year closer to retirement with no chance at anything. |
