Ed Werder @Edwerderespn 3s
Just interviewed Alex Smith on field. He says he could look in eyes of OL and see embraced challenge of grinding out last possession |

It's hard to bash a guy who's team is 2-0, who is completing about 60% of his passes, and who has not turned the ball over yet. |

Now if the 49ers LOSE tonight, time to laugh at the forty whiners that constantly come on here to whine about Alex Smith LMAO ROFL

0 TOs against a team that had 6 the game before?
Impressive. |
4 for 13 on 3rd down. He won't be able to ride the luck train for long but good win for him.

It was a good win but Alex still hasn't proven that he is going to lead a team anywhere meaningful, which is everyones gripe about having a ****ing game manager as a QB on a team in their prime that's suppose to be in "win now" mode. |

The word of the day is: tepid. That is what Alex Smith was today. Which doesn't surprise me a bit. This is what I thought we would say.
Smith is also VERY lucky he did not throw 2 picks today, including a pick 6. The ball came out late several times, and he was throwing behind a lot of guys. This is the QB I was afraid of. Good enough to win if the D and run game are awesome. Not good enough if they are not or if the D doesn't set him up with a few short fields or if they're playing another elite team. |
