We still have next to no worthwhile talent on the D Line, outside of Jones, 2 linebackers in Ragland and Houston that are even kind of worth a shit, and a secondary that's full of useless pieces of shit outside of Berry and Fuller, who might have some growing pains when he goes from covering the slot to being asked to shut down his side of the field.
Couple all that with the fact that there isn't much quality to be found in FA and we don't have a draft pick until late in the second, and this Is starting to look like a major shitstorm brewing on the defensive side of the ball.

Who really knows at this point, man. Everything is theoretical. I don’t think anyone expected the Eagles to be SB champions last February, and I doubt anyone was expecting the Giants to lose 13 games.
On the flip side, the Chiefs should have a wicked offense. The line needs some patchwork, but all of the physical tools are there to be a top 5 grouping. We get Ware and Conley back, which can’t hurt.
The defense had a whole bunch of replacement level players last year. They need change in the worst way. Yeah, it sucks that Peters is gone, but that is clearly his fault. He’s too good of a player for it to be anyone else’s. We should feel somewhat relieved to have Fuller and Amerson on board before FA even begins, because I’m sure Marcus was a goner regardless of whether we got them or not. Now, we see what Veach can manufacture with FA and the draft. I would bet that even without Peters, our defense depth chart from 1-23 or whatever it will be, will be far superior to what was there in 2017.
