Heh, Roy's teams don't defend, period. Self's teams concentrate on defending the high percentage shots. If some kid who has shot 5 for 29 or whatever from 3 for the season hits one in a game where his team goes 9 for 25, it has little to do with a supposed coaching strategy of neglecting 3 point defense.

Nova shot 36% from 3pt tonight. Which, is a decent %, but come on. You have this notion in your head that Self is somehow horrible at teaching the guards to defend the 3pt. It's all in his tough, straight up man to man defense that leaves the 3pt open at times. If you are going to give up a shot do you want that shot to be from under 5 foot or from 15+?

You want to know why KU lost tonight? They gave up 12 offensive rebounds & got outrebounded by 10.

It did seem that they got out worked and out hustled most of the game. They only turned it on towards the end.

it's not just me, the announcers and analyst say it all the time ... KU struggles shooting the ball. Been that way for years.

Bill Self wants the ball in the paint and Green,White and Frankamp will continue to sit on the bench until they can play the way Self wants them to ... defense and passing the ball.
