Yep, I agree %.

Ray got busted for pot or something IIRC, it was right before the draft. He came out a year after all of those guys though.

FYI I was one of the few people who had Mack over Clowney that year. :D.

Watching him fall to the Raiders made me sick.

Wasn't Ford the guy at the combine who proclaimed himself as the better edge rusher than Clowney and it stirred things up in the media for a few days...everyone saying, "THAT guy thinks he's better than CLOWNEY?!?! LMAO What a joke!!! Yada yada!!"

2 years later....it's still in the air...

Interesting breakdown of a read option play from last week.

Ramik seems to always be on his heels. Sorter can, well sort it out, but isn't that poes gap that he gets pushed off of that creates the lane?

Did the same thing he always does. Sat there looking at the line, hoping for something to open up so he could slide through a gap rather than actually maintaining gap responsibility and attacking. If he is more assertive there, he could've kept the guard from pushing him downfield and creating that cutback lane.

He's just way too tentative and it came screaming out of his college tapes. He is a bad fit at Ted.

Another run play we had bottled up but sorensen whiffs. Berry makes that play, but he's too selfish

Interestingly enough on that play, Ford didn't eat shit on the boot. Looked like he did a nice job maintaining backside responsibility there.

I wonder if it came after the one that carved him up.

I'm better than Clowney00:00/01:10
INDIANAPOLIS -- Dee Ford took aim at Jadeveon Clowney on Sunday, and minced no words in trying to establish himself as the top pass rusher in the NFL draft. Comparing Clowney's reckless style of play to "a blind dog in a meat market," the 6-foot-2, 250-pound pass rusher who was the star of the Senior Bowl didn't back off a bit.

"I'm better (than Clowney). Let's put it like this. People like to talk about size all the time. Size is pretty much overrated in my eyes," Ford said on Sirius XM NFL Radio Sunday. "You can look at guys like Robert Mathis, Elvis Dumervil, Von Miller. These are 6-2 guys and under. People are just looking at the fact that he's a physical specimen. Honestly if you watch the film, he plays like a blind dog in a meat market, basically."

Ford racked up 10.5 sacks, 14.5 tackles for loss and 17 quarterback hurries at Auburn last season, despite missing the team's first two games due to a knee injury that hampered him throughout the season. Ford said he sees Clowney and Missouri defensive end Kony Ealy as his only competition in the draft among pass rushers, and doesn't see why he's not expected to be chosen ahead of the South Carolina star who may be the first overall pick of the Houston Texans.

Ford also took a jab at the NFL and its personnel executives who he believes value physical measurables too highly.

"I play with a lot of technique, I watch a lot of film, these are the things that make you a great player. These are the things I do, and it shows up, rather than -- this is all my opinion -- you can see these things on film. Go watch the film," Ford said. "There are a lot of intangibles that you need to have to be a great player. You can't just look at the fact that he's a physical specimen. I think the NFL should have learned that by now."

And, perhaps, Ford should have by now learned that you don't criticize the methods of the very people you are trying to impress, at their own event.

Ford won't get a chance to measure up against Clowney: He pulled out of the combine Monday morning for medical reasons.

That would be my assumption.

I think they'd like to keep another safety rather than toss Murray into the fire that quickly. Our 4th safety always gets significant run around here and unless you think Cooper will be that guy to play the hybrid Nickel/safety role, your alignment here puts that burden on an awfully green kid in Murray.

Though I will say that Cooper's passed Fleming in my eyes. I really thought Fleming all but had this thing on lock down but I'm not seeing it at this point.

RunKC 08-18-2016 10:47 AM

Steve Brown looked good last weekend. I would keep him before Cooper.

O.city 08-18-2016 10:51 AM

I'd keep brown as well.

O.city 08-18-2016 10:52 AM

Clowney has been banged up alot, but man, I thought that dude would be phenomenal rushing the passer.

Wonder what they'd take for him?

Nope, it was before. The second he fell asleep on it they got his ass.

staylor26 08-18-2016 10:57 AM

To think the Texans had their pick of Bortles or Mack and took Clowney. I know I know, hindisight, but still.
