Pioli had to start somewhere. Unfortunately, he decided it didn't have to start on the offensive line, the foundation of a good football team. A good offensive line would ahve done wonders for Cassel in his development.

Instead, he started on the defense, which has proceeded to give up 28 points per game.

Get ****ing real you clown.

No one here thinks Pendergast was even a remotely decent hire.

You are just an illiterate dickbag who loves to generalize.

They did not draft Sanchez?

I'm not too pissy about this, because Pendergast was a really late hire when there weren't many options left and because I think he's actually done quite a bit despite having limited 3-4 talent to work with.

That being said... the interesting thing about Pendergast is, he fielded an awesome defense a few years ago when Arizona was in a 4-3. I think he takes a lot of unnecessary heat for coaching a transition defense and arguably a defense he wasn't that comfortable with.

I don't remember very many people (if any) that were excited about Pendergast

My biggest gripe about Herm was the conservative play calling.... and Haley has made him look like Al Saunders.
I'd correct that statement only to add "today" at the end. I have some faith held out that this won't continue into coming games/seasons, but that line is a joke and until something is done about it, unfortunately I don't see a lot changing this year.

On an aside, regardless of piss-poor line play, Larry is done.

I don't fault them for bringing in their QB. Pioli saw Cassel as his long term man, even over those they had the potential of drafting. With that as the case, you pull the trigger regardless of whatever else you have in place.

Now should they have focused on OL above DL this year? One could make a damn good argument for it, but they chose the path they chose. If, 3 years from now, the OL's been fixed, Cassel is still in one piece and playing well, and Jackson and Magee are important pieces of a solid 3-4 line, nearly everything in this thread will be moot and forgotten.

On the other hand, if the OL's still in tatters, Cassel's been broken in half, and our DL picks are more like Ryan Sims, Junior Siavii, and Eric Downing then Haley most likely will be gone, and Pioli will have shown to be a major fraud.

They've made their bed for the year, we all know it's going to be a multi-year process... might as well sit back, enjoy the ride, and be glad we're not the detroit lio...crap, never mind on that last one...
