Through the years Brandon has been torched by all the bigger/Taller WR's he's faced on the outside. And if you haven't noticed, the league is full of them right now. It'll be okay. |

People are acting like Flowers is a difference maker and a shut down corner in this league. He is far from being that at this point in his career and he was never that shut down corner to begin with. The FO did the smart thing in saving money by cutting Flowers before he could become even worse than what he was last year. It's a simple matter of his cap hit, $10+ mil vastly outweighing his production on the field.

I'm surprised to find out there are CPers who expected Flowers to be an impact player this year. He wasn't last year. When you lose your job to Marcus Cooper, your time is over.

You guys realize that Flowers had only 7 passes defended last season with 1 INT but had 68 total tackles with 63 of them being solo. What does that mean? He allowed a crap ton of receptions. Brandon Flowers gave up sixty-four receptions in the 2013 regular season on ninety-six targets, a 66.7 completion percentage. And CP has its panties up in bunches because we released him to free up $7.5 mil on the cap. Phenomenal.

It takes two to tango. |
Opposing QBs averaged a 103 passer rating against Flowers. Flowers gave up, by himself, 846 receiving yards and 4 TDs last season on those 64 receptions. You seriously think that's worth a $10+ mil cap hit in 2014?
