But sure, there'll be your token fall-on-the-sword dismissal and it will probably be Bob Sutton.

As for how can Smith return? Well, if the situation wasn't good for Mahomes to start in 2017 (suspect offensive line, bad defense, a drop off of any receivers worth anything after Kelce and Hill) ... then how is 2018 going to be any better?

I won't even rehash the statistical arguments for his return because the worthless shitbird of a poster in Tigger can just do that for me.

I think Pettine would be a great replacement for Sutton.

In the salary cap era, there is no way the Chiefs can justify keeping Smith when Mahomes should be ready.

Pettine is intriguing, yes. Don't know what he and Reid's relationship is like.

Not at all a fan of Pettine. Sutton can run the Ryan scheme as well as anybody. The problem is the scheme, not the coordinator. The best defenses in the league are aggressive and Pettine's will give us more of the same. For the same reason we should avoid an unaggressive zone like Sean McDermott's.

If we're going after a defense, it should be more like Pittsburgh, Carolina, or Minnesota. I actually think Carolina is realistic because it's a lot like Jim Johnson scheme. Don't see why it couldn't also be run with a 3-4 front.

If you want a Jim Johnson scheme, Spags is your huckleberry.

Give me a coordinator who turns our defense into a rabid dog. High accountability and desire to crush the opponents will.

I’m a no on any passive shit.

It'd be a perfect marriage with a Mahomes led offense. Just a highly aggressive team that will test the limits of other teams' will.

Toughness isn’t going to happen on a Reid coached team. They are as soft as he is.

jerryforeverrice80 01-07-2018 11:50 AM

the last home playoff win alex has is when he was with the 49ers and that was a thrilling game.

jerryforeverrice80 01-07-2018 11:53 AM

this team has a lot of good young talent and its best to let them grow together and get a new DC.

I want a D-Coordinator that is an aggressive animal.

I know the Rams lost, but Phillip's defense was blowing shit up out there.

There's only one thing in common with this stretch of playoff failures. The approach given to the starting QB.

It's the retread curse.

The **** if it is.

Andy Reid is a major problem. We will never win a SB with him. It’s like people forgot how he completely ****ed legendary Eagles teams.

We haven’t seen that Alex in KC when it mattered. He hasn’t been clutch in the postseason.

28% win rate in the playoffs = "clutch" to Tiger
