I think describing Lawrence as having a “ten cent head” is absurdly harsh, especially if the basis is just a candid comment about the struggles he endured in his rookie season.

Yeah, that's stupid. He was as accomplished as a QB could be coming into the NFL and about as close to a perfect QB prospect as there has been in the last however many years.

He's had one season of (real) NFL coaching and it's already night and day difference. I don't know if he'll ever join the elite of the NFL, but to pretend he is mentally weak or doesn't have the QB1 factors is just silly.

I thought that too, but that last drive in the first half and so far in the 2nd, he seemed to have left it in the rearview mirror...

A complete turnaround.

Funny going back and seeing how many were writing Lawrence off early. Meyer was so bad he really could make anyone look awful. Maybe Lawrence isn't that "generation talent" but he's got guts and ability and now a HC that's not a complete moron.

This shit happens when a team gets up big and loses it's edge. 90% of this is on the Chargers folding 10% of the credit I give to the opposing teams coming back. Same shit with KC last year . We choked against Cinci.

How much of it was Lawrence taking the game and how much of it was the Chargers spreading their legs wide open?

Go back and watch the 2nd half. He played a good second half, but it still wasn’t this otherworldly performance. The Chargers shit the bed in a way that is almost unbelievable. Lawrence had two more ints in the second half that were dropped. He just had his Frank Reich moment and he’ll go on playing 5th fiddle in the AFC for the next 10 years to the really great QBs in the conference who are just mentally tougher than he is.

99% the latter.

Absolutely wrong. He was a QB that looked the part (tall, long hair) on an absolutely stacked college offense full of NFL players going against weaklings.

For those that actually dug in, Trevor wasn't special.

Pederson designed an offense to hide his flaws, allowing Trevor to not have to think and giving him easy layups.
