No, just sick of watching these ****ers expand their strike zone.

Even Albert's been guilty of it this year.

None of the pitches in question in that inning were even tough pitches. Not like these guys were whiffing on nasty stuff. Just shit out of the zone - most of it way low.

Yeah, I hear you. They aren't playing Cardinal baseball this year.

'Hamas' Jenkins 07-17-2010 02:46 PM

I hate free swinging teams. Work the count, and make the pitcher throw you a strike.

Oh yea they seem to make noname guys look good. Took what 6 starts to beat Bud Norris who gets rocked by the rest of the
Leauge.

I turned the game off to play some NCAA 11 for a bit.

Why did TLR pull Waino with a shutout after 89 pitches?

Tough day to ask a guy to go much longer than that and he struggled a bit early on. I'm okay with giving him an easier day.

And Tyler Greene is absolutely my starting SS at this point.

'Hamas' Jenkins 07-17-2010 04:52 PM

Nice to see Joles lay off some borderline pitches.

'Hamas' Jenkins 07-17-2010 04:54 PM

Ha Ha. **** you, Weaver, you greedy ****.

Miles 07-17-2010 04:55 PM

Could really use a run here.

Miles 07-17-2010 04:56 PM

Ryan is such an atrocious hitter this year that LA is giving him the pitcher treatment.

'Hamas' Jenkins 07-17-2010 04:57 PM

How about we have a middle ground. Perhaps, rather than trying to placate the shitty Brendan Ryan, we give him "confidence" by letting him squeeze here.

'Hamas' Jenkins 07-17-2010 04:58 PM

That was an ugly swing that almost worked, shirt licker.

Great four pitch walk by Miller.

Marcellus 07-17-2010 05:04 PM

Bring Miller in to get the lefty and he ****ing walks him. Why was Franklinhousen not brought in?

I don't see how he check-swung at the first one and then swung at that one. It was as if he thought he was wearing a Royals jersey or something.

LMAO

That's my point.

I guess I have the four-game sweep history on my side, though.

OnTheWarpath15 07-17-2010 05:11 PM

That's 10-0 at Busch for AW.

Thanks, bullpen, for not ****ing this up.

You gotta love coming out of the break like this. Congrats, Cards fans.

So is tomorrow the day TLR sits half the ****ing lineup, or is it Monday?

I'm ****ed either way, because I have tickets to both.

Bad enough I get the shitty end of the rotation, plus God knows what Tony does with the lineup - even though they just came back from the break.

Other than that, none that I can recall.

Alright, let's sweep these scumbags back to LA and keep the "doyer" fans in hiding.

Pasta Little Brioni 07-18-2010 12:08 PM

What sad looking lineups for both teams JFC

Furcal - Lopez
Carrol - Jay
Ethier - Craig
Kemp - Holliday
DeWitt - Winn
Belliard - Schumaker
Paul - LaRue
Ellis - Suppan
Padilla - Ryan

Miles 07-18-2010 12:39 PM

Great, another one of those games where everyone gets the day off. Fortunately, Torre knows the art of the suck lineup as well.

The problem started with Rasmus hacking wildly at 3 straight pitches and striking out from a guy that proceeded to walk 3 of the next 4 hitters.

Rasmus takes some of the most unprofessional ABs you'll ever see. It was a pathetic giveaway of an AB by a kid that thinks he's the greatest in the game.

I'm developing a pretty healthy personal disdain for Colby Rasmus.

He very rarely has a bad AB.

Too bad he'll get sent down in favor of Winn when Ludwick and Stav are healthy.

That fat ****'s implosion hurt my FBB team today, but fortunately my opponent had Bobby Jenks.

I've followed him really close over the last two years, and whenever he gets over 25 pitches, he's absolutely worthless.

Heh, they didn't play any worse than his everyday lineup has played most of the year. The young guys are impressing.

Also anytime Suppan gives you 5 inning of 1 run ball you got be happy with it.

Can and will.

Just wait. Craig goes down when Stav is healthy (don't really have an issue with that, Stav has shown himself to be better off the bench but Craig is better with regular PT).

Jay goes down when Ludwick is healthy.

And we'll hear that he's being sent down to 'get regular playing time'...

I'd start him in CF and tell Rasmus to grow the !@#$ up.

Permanently? Of course, Rasmus has 30/30 potential.

But for a couple of weeks to keep Rasmus in check, I'd absolutely do it.

Rasmus will sleepwalk through an entire series on occasion because he's just dead certain he's made it.

It wouldn't hurt to remind him that he's not a HOFer just yet and that production earns your playing time, not draft status.

It's a year long thing/ People are just too hard on Holliday. He is prodcuing like he has all his previous years. We are getting what we paid for. He hustles after every ball. He doesn't dog it on the base paths. He's signing autographs for kids at the ball park.

I hated the guy after the Playoffs last year. I'm still pissed off about that but he's a Cardinal with $120 million and a no trade clause, For better or worse we are stuck together for the next seven years. We should give the guy a fair chance.

'Hamas' Jenkins 07-18-2010 04:17 PM

Good Lord, how about we cut back on the hysteria.

This team should roll with Jay as the 4th OF, Winn as the 5th and send Stavinoha down.

Ride out Greene's hot streak at short, and use Ryan as a defensive replacement.

To be honest, I could give two shits whether or not we DFA Skip or Miles, or we could just pull a Joker and snap a pool cue in half and put it in front of them with the winner taking the last roster spot.

Oh, I was venting moreso on the lineup Tony put out there around him and not being surprised that they hadn't scored yet. I've always been a fan of the way Holliday plays the game. I figured he'd come around and he did.

Jesus. That was a weird day.

TLR trots out the AAA lineup.

Soup does a damn good job getting through 6.

Boggs brings his gas can in with him from the bullpen.

What was a pretty quickly played game starts to slows to a crawl.

Then thankfully, Joe Torre decides to try to get Broxton a 5 out save on a day where the heat index is 106. He looked like he was going to ****ing have a heart attack early in the 9th. 40+ pitches over 1.3 innings.

Great win. Hope this provides a bit of a spark for the 2nd half.

They should induct Joe Torre into the HOF at the same time they induct Steinbrenner.

Afterall, without Steinbrenner's wallet, Torre isn't even a .500 manager.

He really is one of the most overrated figures in all of baseball.

I can understand that he really wanted that win, but to expect Broxton to get a 5 out save when it feels like 106 outside, is unrealistic.

He looked exhausted after the first two pitches in the 9th. He probably threw 20-25 more after that. Think he finished with 44 pitches. That's ridiculous.

The Dodgers and Philles are not the Royals and Astros etc. They are legitamate playoff contenders. We got an excellent chance at sweeping them now also.

DJ's left nut 07-19-2010 08:13 PM

That was a hell of a win.

They just kept coming. Chippin' away, chippin' away.

Then came the big bats.

The headlines will be the HRs, but the key plays in that game were the single runs of groundouts in the 1st and 2nd innings (huge to show the Phil's that you're going to keep fighting) and the double by Jay ahead of Pujols' HR.

That fundamental baseball was every bit as important as the HRs.
