The river walking zombies is Land of the Dead with Dennis Hopper and John Leguizamo (sp?). It's ok, but only if you like most any zombie movie.
The one with Ving Rhames where they dock on an island at the end is the 2004 Dawn of the Dead. That one is ok.
The one where people are on the island with a "controlled" zombie population is, Survival of the Dead. I think someone mentioned that already. It's terrible. I do not recommend. That's sort of a follow up to Diary of the Dead, which uses the first-person thing where they hold a camcorder. I thought it was lame.

Pants 02-29-2012 10:22 AM

28 Days Later is an amazing zombie flick. That would be my #1 recommendation.

Well not complete, hollowed-out skeletons. Just basically eaten to shit. Either way though. LMAO

My favorite zombie movie of all time is the original Dawn of the Dead. However the remake of it is actually quite good. Here's a rundown of some good zombie flicks.

Dawn of the Dead 1978
Dawn of the Dead 2004
Day of the Dead (original only)
Shaun of the Dead
Return of the Living Dead 1&2
Night of the Living Dead
Night of the Living Dead remake is decent
Zombi 2 (or is it just Zombie? Eh...the one where the zombie fights the shark)
City of the Living Dead
Land of the Dead
Diary of the Dead
Evil Dead 1 & 2, Army of Darkness
Dead Alive
28 Days Later
Zombieland
Planet Terror

That remake is quite good. I still like the original as my favorite zombie movie because of the awesome music by Goblin lol. It just has a certain cheesiness quality that I love. But yeah, that remake is really awesome. I love them both. Shame the Day of the Dead remake sucked.

Also...is Fido good or bad? I've heard it was good from people.

Fido is good as long as you don't go in expecting to see a bunch of zombies eating people.

By far the best zombie flick ever is Zombies Zombies Zombies or Zombie Strippers.

OK...here ya go! saw this movie. I'll admit it wasn't the greatest zombie flick...but it kept my interest (more than I can say about a lot of movies) and I really wanted to know what was gonna happen.

this couple are on a beach laying on towels and this zombie comes walking out of the ocean and barfs black stuff all over the guys face. he progressively becomes a living zombie. kills and eats some folks. she loves him and won't leave him.

I watch any zombie movie regardless budget, cast, reviews, etc.

I remember renting one from Hollywood Video years back. A zombie gal was giving this guy head and proceeded to "de-head" him.

Terrible.

Funny, that's exactly what I liked about it.

Every other zombie movie has basically the same 3rd act. Even Shaun of the dead had the same 3rd act.

28 days later did something nobody saw coming, and they did it well... even if it was pretty unbelievable.

Ceej 02-29-2012 09:26 PM

I was not a huge fan of the original dawn of the dead.

The orange Tremor blood was off putting.

Bump 03-01-2012 12:16 AM

Night of the Living Dead is by far my favorite ever, nothing gave me the chills like that did when I was 8 years old. Black and white too, way better that way.

I think Rick was trying to prove something to Shane when the kid and him came back to help. Sacrifices don't always need to happen, everyone can get out alive if they think.

No, he clearly was going to leave him be. He even said Shane brought it upon himself. He came back because he saw the guard uniforms and it reminded him of his duty to serve and protect back when he was a cop, IMHO.

Also, why are you talking about The Walking Dead when this clearly became a General Zombie thread?

The original Dawn of the Dead is my favorite zombie movie.

28 Days Later is great, but it doesn't really qualify as a traditional zombie movie to me.

If Walking Dead wants to raise their ratings. One quick cameo of Woody passing by while looking for some Twinkies would do it! That would be an amazing crossover!

Meh. Some people like the shamblers; I like the runners. I feel like it brings about a sense of urgency you can't match with slow zombies.

Plus they weren't running any faster than regular humans they just don't get tired. Ever.

Chiefnj2 03-02-2012 11:28 AM

The zombies are decaying yet they never seem to pull ACLs when making cuts between school buses on the highway. Some should drop to the ground clutching their knee.

Valiant 03-02-2012 11:52 AM

I think they should progress.

Fresh turned, fast and agile, only bites turn. Scratches are nonlethal.
Older decayed zombies, slow, scratches are lethal.

Bad zombie movie you need to watch. Die you zombie bastards. Has aliens, vampires and a butthole door also.

Also, you would think that AMC would have a proofreader on staff to authorize the print-production for the DVD cover.

KC_Connection 03-04-2012 09:12 PM

Great episode. Didn't see that death coming, but it make sense. It's not his kind of world anymore.

seaofred 03-04-2012 09:16 PM

I wonder what kind of effect it will have on Carl. He seemed to realize it was the zombie he was taunting. Also ate the zombies now attacking animals and will the cow become a zombie cow?

KC_Connection 03-04-2012 09:17 PM

It would be funny if T-Dog just hung on through the entire show. He actually got a line once today.

If you're arguing that it's been ineffective at developing other characters besides those main few, I don't disagree. Can't suddenly make the writing or the show better than it is, though.

The episode was really about morality vs. anarchy. Because of that, it was symbollically a very important decision. I didn't find it wasted at all.

No, my point was I had some premonition that someone of some moderate show value was going to die during tonight's episode. I feel Dale was moderately important to the show because he was Mr. Do Gooder. He had a voice. It'll be interesting how the group responds .

And tonight's episode was bogged down with too much dialogue and decision making for me.

Can't believe it. Really really liked Dale. Always the voice of reason. The conscience of the group... Wow.

Really not liking Carl right now.

What does happen to the group now?

I think we see someone else step into his "concience" role. Possibly Andrea. I think she might distance herself from Shane at this point. Also does Shane's already prominent voice lead the group down darker roads now that his moral opposite isn't there to keep everyone honest?

Does that little bitch Carl own up to what he did?

KevB 03-04-2012 11:56 PM

Here's my question, does Carl have a mother? Kid just roams around completely unattended. What else does she have to do but look after her one kid?

Also, who goes roaming around away from camp at night?

Fairplay 03-05-2012 12:13 AM

I am actually happy Dale died. Question: Why would you go out in the woods in the dark in the first place?
Seems like every episode someone just runs off, like the kid and Dale this episode.

I think the other group out there will butt heads with them, just a matter of time.
Watch out for zombies, how about other humans. Cool stuff.

Bowser 03-05-2012 12:20 AM

ZOMBIE COW

Bowser 03-05-2012 12:22 AM

Didn't see that coming at all. I'm just glad they didn't stick to the comic and subject us to torrid sex scenes between Dale and Andrea.

It feels like the group has definitely reached a fork in the road, and now that the one true voice of reason is gone, I expect bad things to be on the way for the rest.

Yeah, I know. I read that and snickered. LMAO

You would think that w/ all the stray guns being left out, along w/ walkers occasionally showing up around the farm, that she would keep that kid on a tight leash. But, nah, screw it. Let the little bugger run around and play w/ weapons and zombies stuck in the mud. DOH! :banghead:

Lol, wtf? Some of these mistakes are just lazy.

You ever got your foot stuck in the mud like that? That shit is a bitch. Its happened to me at times and yes, i've gotten out, but you gotta lose your shoe then go get it lol. It used to happen to me quite frequently when i was younger and went night fishing out at the rivers in cali. I dont know anything about how strong they are or if they get weaker as they have less to eat and what not.

Anyways, just saying.
