I think we are arguing the same thing. I just think Padgett was legit.

EDIT: I will elaborate. Andrew White struggled just as much. But instead of calling out Bill Self on twitter about it, he got his ass in the gym and has improved significantly coming into this year.

If scholarships mattered, then Lucas would have been forced out. You really think they're forcing out a 4 star guard with a good attitude? It's just ridiculous. There was massive acrimony between Adams and the coaches. It was a long time coming.

This is correct. I believe early on that Adams quietly declined to redshirt. He believed he was better than he really was. He was a big dog in high school, and it was hard for him to adjust. He is also a young kid who made poor decisions.

You're straight up talking out of your ass. Landen Lucas was a three star recruit who may never see valuable minutes, and yet he remains on the team. Anrio Adams wasn't dismissed to make room for a better player.

He was pushed out because he fought with coaches and constantly got himself in trouble. Nothing else.

Quintrell is 6-5, gmab. Padgett was wanted so that doesn't work. Downs a "power forward"????? Lol, guy was a twig jump shooter. I'll give you Peters, I forgot him. That's a legit big guy Self ran off.

Quintrell ended up at UNLV, not exactly division II.

Self wanted to play Downs at forward, but downs wanted to play guard so he could get to the league.

@rustindodd: KU announces a home-and-home basketball series with UNLV, beginning in 2014-15 at Allen Fieldhouse. Return game is in '16-17

The reason for the year off is we play at San Diego State in 15-16; scheduling conflict.

Vegas is prime recruiting ground. Nice move.

Not there, Parrish has a woody for Frosh. I would bet that Perry is probably top 10.

KC_Connection 10-16-2013 10:57 PM

Ellis really hasn't done anything to deserve being on the list (although I guess you could argue the same for a lot of those freshmen). He was unquestionably terrible for much of last season until the very end when he finally broke free of his shell.

If there's a list of the mid-season variety this winter, though, I suspect he'll be there. And quite high.

That doesn't mean that I can endure the hours and hours and hours and hours and hours of those jackass mother****ers talking about how "tough" he is. And when he jacks up some shot with 3rd grader form and it happens to go in, we'll have to hear about how "clutch" he is. It's basically a lesser Handsjob treatment. Prison Bitch 10-18-2013 02:59 PM

Calipari, though, also plans to utilize Randle on the perimeter, where he can handle the ball and score from 3-point range, which is something he'll be asked to do in the NBA.

"If I wanted to just win college games and that's all I was about, I'd be playing him under the basket," Calipari said. "But I'm trying to prepare him for where's he's going to be after college."

Those hillbilly tards just lap it up. Last year never happened, the NCAA was weak that's why Louisville won it (one might ask why Kentucky sucked so bad in a down year but whatever), wiggins was the best recruit sincel Lebron until he chose Kansas now he is overhyped and Randle is clearly better, gonna go 40-0, on and on.

Cal and that fanbase could not possibly be better for each other.

You hit on a good point. Not only the UK fans, but a lot of national media pundits were high as a kite on Wiggins until he chose KU. KU is a national powerhouse but they wanted nothing more than for Wiggins to complete the "super team" at UK for their media erections.

Prison Bitch 10-19-2013 09:13 PM

Exactly. And they're mad that Kansas stole so much of their thunder by grabbing him. The SI cover sent those freaks into a convulsion.

I recorded the Late Night special from last nite and am watching Cals speech. He's on a raised podium with the lights off, a spotlight shining on him, while 24k crazies hang on every word. It looks like a 3rd world dictatorship

Jabari Parker looked incredible on the Late NIght coverage of Duke's scrimmage. 24 points and an incredible baseline spin move capped off by a reverse slam over a post guy. Wiggins is going to have his hands full with this guy for sure in a couple weeks.

Here's Smart's take on the state of Wigginsmania.

"They are saying he is the best college player there is and he has not even played a game yet," Smart told USA TODAY Sports. "Of course that hypes me up. It is all talk. He still has to put his shorts on one leg at a time like I do. It is all potential. I am not saying he can't do it. But he has not done it yet."
...
At 6-foot-4, Smart wants nothing more than an opportunity to guard the sinewy 6-8 Wiggins.
"Definitely," Smart says. "I am not going to back down from any challenge. Like I said, you are going to have to prove to me. I am a fighter; I will keep fighting and will never give up."

Cute OKie State. Don't poke the giants.

In my world, recruits wearing gear from the school they just visited is like someone sporting a "Hard Rock Cafe Orlando" shirt when they get home from their Florida vacation.

Justise Winslow is like this. He's an attention whore. He'll Instagram pics of his KU shorts he's wearing at the pool, then another day he'll post a pic of himself wearing an AZ shirt along with a catchy caption that accompanies each pic, etc. He's done it for every school interested in him. He might as well go to UK lol.

He's right, though. The hype around Wiggins is enormous and it's going to create some enormous pressure on him.

And don't forget, Smart also backed up those words last year when he actually won at AFH.

Screw Smart that stupid thug! He did back up his words at Allen Fieldhouse, but we punked him in his house last year! We weren't going to stoop to his level of doing a flip on there court like he did ours. I know there is pressure on the kid, but don't poke the bear Smart because you might not like the results.
