He's more of a spaz than a douche. Donaldson 100% pure douche. Bautista is an asshole with douchey qualities. Lawrie is more of a little bitch with strong douche tendencies. Smardjqkw& is just a white trash piece of shit. Viking boy is a narcissist blowhard ****boy.

Spaz is the perfect word. I couldn't quite think of one. Pence is def a spaz but I think overall, a pretty good natured, chill dude. He's certainly not a douche

CaliforniaChief 12-14-2015 11:23 PM

I'm still curious about Tim Lincecum. If he has a decent showing in January to show case his rehabilitation, I'd love to see us take a flyer on him. The dude flat out knows how to pitch, and would be a nice bounce back candidate, IMO...maybe allowing us to move on a corner outfielder like Gordon or spending more money there.

suzzer99 12-14-2015 11:28 PM

If we had kept Gordon and Zobrist we could go into the season with Yo, Medlen, Volquez, Young and a ham sandwich and still be overwhelming WS favorites. Screw spending money on a starting pitcher. Just keep the defense at weapons-grade and figure something out to replace Outfante.

Wade Davis has now become a verb... and it's being used during football analysis. The NFL disabled embedding so you have to click the link:

Well, except for that time during the 2014 World Series when Pence told a Starbucks barista in KC to write "Champ" on the cup for his name. That's a douche move.

suzzer99 12-15-2015 01:20 PM

That's totally a spaz move. "Champ" is so nerdy it's cute.

Donaldson would have insisted his cup be labeled "MVP", then thrown a fit because his foam was too hot causing his man-bun to wilt.

From ESPN:

Yovani Gallardo: The Royals, Baltimore Orioles and Houston Astros are all interested in Gallardo, who may sign with a team soon, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation tweets. With Cueto now off the market, Gallardo becomes one of the best pitchers still available. The 29-year-old posted a 3.42 ERA in 33 starts with the Rangers last season.

lewdog 12-15-2015 07:24 PM

He's thrown 180+ innings in 7 straight seasons and a near 3.6 ERA. Strikeout rate is on the decline but at the K, that doesn't concern me much.

Definitely get this done if you can.

Definitely some red flags, but I honestly don't know if he'd be worth the money or not, and I'm not being sarcastic.

What I do know is that another name for the Royals being mentioned is Kazmir. I have zero interest in the club signing him.

It should be apparent by now that whatever his numbers are are front-loaded because his arm poops out after the break. It has the last 2 seasons, so what would lead anyone to believe that it would be different as he's only getting older.
So, what you are getting is another Young. Somebody with a hard ceiling of effective number of innings.

Besides Geraldo, I don't know whose available and within the Royals realistic salary parameters?

I presume the "offering Alex Gordon a $23 million AAV" part.

5/92 seems sensible...I guess (but probably still too much given that year 5 is likely going to get you a 1.5-2 WAR player); 4/92 is batty.

Just so we are clear, I agree. I wouldn't want any part of that deal. But, that is a number a saw referenced yesterday in a Boston rag.

I'm guessing, given the proclivity of MLB teams to overpay for corner OF talent in this market (Jayson Heyward), that 4/$92MM for AG might not be too far off.

Me? I'd do 4/$75

Former Royals Outfielder Garth Brooks changed his name to Chris Gaines, and is a free agent. He's been out of the league for awhile, because he has friends in low places.
