Does that metric need recalibrated after the removal of the extreme shift though? Genuinely asking, not sure.

It's possible, though I think it's from pre-shift days.

Another thing can this team just admit that MJ Melendez is not an OFer, he's brutal out there.

Melendez has been rough in the OF. Has the tools to be good, but is not.

The Royals would have to get better in the OF and at 2B to make Garcia work well at 3B, sure. I think that's actually the easiest position to upgrade. And is the offense or the setup of the team changed at all if Witt is playing SS instead of 3B, with the lighter-hitting guy who would play SS playing 3B instead?

I want to see some combination of Witt-Garcia-Loftin at 3B, SS, and 2B next year. I don't really care what that combination is.

In the OF, I'd look for a FA or trade acquisition to move things forward.

Cody Bellinger seems to have fixed the things wrong with him. That's someone I'd pursue in FA as a potential CF option that adds lefty power to the lineup. We'll see what Waters can be over the rest of the year, though the slow start isn't great.

I kind of look at corner OF as the easiest spot to find solutions at in baseball.

Melendez has been disappointing. He looked like a world beater for awhile.

Witt at SS and Garcia at 2nd long term would be the best for this team. That's strong defense up the middle.

But if you do that you give up on Massey and are probably deciding that Loftin is a super sub.

Here is a captain hindsight question though:

Would you still have traded Andrew Benintendi or gave him the same contract the White Sox did?

That's a lot of money for basically a singles hitter that plays good D.

I saw something today about him adjusting his hand position over the all star break. He's got them a little farther away from his body. The swing looked better over this series, so we'll see.

At this point it's time to just admit he's a catcher and work with him to be at least decent at it...I can't help but think all the jacking him around with positions is affecting his offense.

Lets sign Kila Kaihuee and Ken Harvey. Finnegan throwing smoke for the TBones and have Gore steal bases.

Tonight was great. Walked right in. Bought a ticket. No wait. Sit wherever I want on RF or LF line. Like the good ole days. If they lose enough $40 parking may get down to $10

Singles at leadoff spot means runner on base for Witt and Salvy to hit home.

How many runs from shit defense has cost the team from the left field position?

If the team was good ok, but they aren't a Benintendi away, they'd have done better to sign some legit starting pitching.

Freddy Fermin. Have no clue what he will be but he has done a good job this year.

Clarke and Cuas ruin Lyle's start.
