Although I’m not thrilled with this trade to say the least, I love how aggressive and creative Brett Veach is. I really thought with how much Marcus was cheering for Mahomes in the preseason, that Marcus would want to stay in KC. I know how much he loves the west coast, particularly Oakland. As Terez said, the Facebook and fan comments didn’t help this situation.

God Dorsey sucked at contracts. Houston, Fisher, and Berry account for 50 million towards the cap this year.

He waited too long to sign Houston and Berry. He was all about being early on his guy though. **** him. I wish he’d want Eric Fisher back

Because Dorsey was the lead on Peters from the get go with probably everybody else in the FO/coaching staff wanting Peters "off the board" Dorsey slams his fist down on the table demanding that we draft him because Peters will not only make the Chiefs better but he will grow up and change.

Well now we know the rest of the story and why Peters AND Dorsey are no longer here.

Everybody love 2/3 of those deals.

I don't think so either but they have to do something with him. He's about to get a mega contract and they have so many studs coming into FA this year and next because of all their stockpiled picks they had a few years ago. He held out last year.

Marcus Peters was Brett Veach’s favorite prospect in 2015 according to John Middlekauf. He said as much on one of his periscope chats.

All the gm talk of saying they will not make AD the highest paid is just "poker bluff fodder" in the negotiation process. AD will get his $$ guarooooonteed !!

I shared this tweet from Kent Swanson the night before Peters got traded to make a point that we shouldn’t let him go. It read like this:

Quote:

Per @MoveTheSticks you need 7-8 Blue Chip players to win a Super Bowl.

Blue Chips:
Houston
Berry
Peters
Hunt
Kelce
Hill

Probably Blue Chips:
Fuller
Jones
Schwartz

Potential:
Mahomes
Ragland
Butker

All signed through at least 2019.
A positive takeaway can be made, though. Even without Peters, the Chiefs are left with 8-11 potentially ‘blue-chip’ players. This roster is far from bare. Veach will continue to add pieces.

Main point: the sky isn’t failing by any means. Still a roster that most teams would absolutely love to have.

This isn’t Madden 18. KC is not getting Aaron Donald.

KC forced a ton of turnovers in part of MP22. That’s going to change. Unless Fuller becomes Peters. He does some things like Peters. Listening to the Smith trade podcast by Terez Paylor, Sam Mellinger mentioned some of the things he does like Peters.

Could be that they’re waiting to sign Peters long-term. Or we’re trying to sign a Rams player long-term. Trading Peters for Donald or a couple of #1s would be just about the only thing that would get me excited about this trade.

Hey there is no denying physical talent and saying he is your favorite from a "talent perspective prospect" that is one thing, BUT one would have to wonder IF Veach felt totally comfortable with his character as "a whole" to spend a 1st rd pick on very likely "powder keg" that will go off? That eventually did go off while almost every other team in the NFL took him off their board just like they did when we went shopping for a bidder with only 1 team truly interested with the other 2 just kicking tires. Can you imagine the shame/humility in shopping Peters to the rest of the league with them telling you "that's why we took him off our board", NOPE NOT INTERESTED !!
