They didn't get it done. It's not gonna happen. Next year is Burrow and Taylor's 5th year together. If they don't do it next year, it's not gonna happen. Harbaugh isn't going anywhere so until Lamar is gone, you're not going to and winning a bowl.

Even assuming that's true arguendo, my team still has two Super Bowls in my lifetime and yours has none. Zero. I'm chilling.

Did Baltimore only call SIX running plays to running backs for the ENTIRE GAME?

Andy is in Harbaugh's head, boys. Your typical Andy-Harbaugh match where Reid runs circles around him.

The fact that we carried the ball six times against a team that had just gotten destroyed on the ground and seemingly still didn't have answers for basic blitzes doesn't seem to speak to defensive brilliance to me as much as offensive ineptitude, but I'll have to watch it back to see. Your corners being so good definitely allows you to mix it up with the front.

As to Kelce, he's as impossible to guard as always. Maybe Hamilton should have been on him all game since he ate against zone today like he always has. But those incredible plays on the first two drives, at least the touchdown, were in man against Hamilton with perfect coverage. What're you supposed to do if it's a perfect back shoulder throw where the TE contorts his body around a 6'4" defender to make the catch? Just have to tip your cap to the connection between he and Mahomes.

Oh it’s KCs defense. They have done this all year. I can’t think of a game this year where they cost the Chiefs a game. It was the offense that caused them to lose games. Kelce is elite and guarding him is easier said than done as you saw.

I thought Lamar was a savant? How could he not have answers?

That kind of contrasts the fact that he encouraged his team to play dirty. Nah, **** that face-saving ****.

Lamar 2-4 in the playoffs.

Baker Mayfield has the same # of playoff wins.

Not elite.

The Baltimore D just dominated the line of scrimmage in the second half. Hat tip to them. Too bad they don't have a franchise QB.

I didn't even read that WaPo article on him being a savant or whatever, but I do think Lamar has a unique kind of brilliance. It's very specific: reading defenders' leverage in the open field and being able to exploit the way they're leaning to make a move. The problem is that for this entire season, including in this game, they stubbornly moved away from designed runs to such a point that that brilliance wasn't at all utilized. How many RPOs did you see this game? QB keepers? Almost literally none, and that's exactly what has made him revolutionary. This is something I think they'll fold back in in year two under Monken.

Also listen, if you guys want to keep obsessing over QBs exclusively like groupies then I'm not here for it. I'll talk the game, but this weird dynamic of just meat riding two guys is a waste of my time.

Boxer_Chief 01-28-2024 05:43 PM

Dirtiest team I’ve seen play the chiefs. Even on mahomes clothesline the defense gave him an elbow on the ground. Every personal foul was warranted and to bitch about it makes you a welll a bitch.
