Also, if Donald tweeted about playing with MP, that dream is dead. Like I said when I first brought up the possibility, it was a long shot. If he’s teeeting about playing with him, he’s obviously not negotiating a deal with another team.

Chiefs
AFC championship game

Choose one and one only

That's what we get if we let him go FA. Why would we agree to that

I'm pretty sure you don't get compensation if you cut the player, so if keeping the player another year wasn't an option, your plan won't work.

Oh I agree. I'm just saying I could see why people would think this was a possibility. Signing Aaron Donald to a massive extension that will be bigger than Houstons will cost them the ability to sign some of their pending over the following 2 years. He will be resigned but it's going to be costly.

If the Chiefs were trading for a player then it likely be Quinn, who hasn't played a full season since 2014?.

However, I don't believe they are getting a player. That would have leaked out. It's a combination of picks.

I’d love to see them trade Aaron Donald to us just to watch the Rams fans meltdown that would happen.

A positive takeaway can be made, though. Even without Peters, the Chiefs are left with 8-11 potentially ‘blue-chip’ players. This roster is far from bare. Veach will continue to add pieces.

Main point: the sky isn’t failing by any means. Still a roster that most teams would absolutely love to have.

Our defense is atrocious. Every single one of our "blue chippers" on the defense has serious injury concerns, aside from Ragland. Berry has had 3 season ending injuries, Houston hasn't been the same since his knee injury sidelined him, Jones will have had 2 knee surgeries in 2 years by the time the 2018 season starts, and Fuller dropped to the 3rd round because of injury concerns. Even IF all 5 play the full season to their fullest potential, we STILL have gaping holes at all 3 levels of the defense. On top of all that, we've left the keys in the hands of geriatric extraordinaire Bob Sutton.

The fact that people on here really thought we'd get the NFL Defensive MVP for Peters is comedy gold. Holy shit.

I not happy at the moment with this trade either but the more time passes the more i back off the ledge. We need to hear the compensation Veach got for dealing him. So far he has been top notch. I guess we should give him the benefit of the doubt. I think some things will come out in the coming weeks.

That being said I now wouldn't be surprised if they dealt Houston either. I could see them really revamping this D. Maybe Veach thinks he can rebuild the Dfence through mainly the draft and FA and still have a shot at the SB.

What if we do get the 1st for MP then they dealt Houston for another 1st and something
more? Chiefs would be looking at 2 first a second 2 3rds etc. I think most would be a little excited plus lets be honest here Houston hasn't panned out for the money. There are some who think he gave a medium to shit effort on a lot of games too.

Seriously LMAO

They told KC to **** off when they asked for Quinn, but got the Defensive Player of the Year instead.

Makes sense.

Yeah....that shit was never going to happen.
I’m good with a 3rd and 5th this year and a 3rd next year.

We would be GIVING picks plus Marcus for Donald. Somebody actually said Donald PLUS picks ROFL as a starting point.

Chiefshrink 02-25-2018 11:12 AM

I have changed my tune on our compensation after reading this entire thread and everyone's take thus thinking more deeply about it. I have moved away from us getting a high pick or PTBN or both or something really valuable in return.

This will be a fire sale of Marcus Peters I'm afraid and most of us will not be happy with the compensation. But at the same time after the emotional dust has settled and realistically looking back on this event and how everything unfolded "as we learn more details" when they come out and they will, we will be fortunate we got anything at all in this deal considering the circumstances involved IMHO.

It’s February. Those holes are going to be addressed as best as Veach can by September. It may not be perfect, but it will be better.

Everybody love 2/3 of those deals.

I still like the Berry deal. Its unfortunate what has happened health wise since.

That being said, Houston costing 20M this year is ****ing outrageous. and a midocre left tackle should not be the second highest paid player on the team. Sends a shitty message.
