If he’s Demetrius Harris with decent hands I’ll be happy. Just a guy who can make a play from time to time, because we know he’ll get opportunities.

Nick Kiezer had those opportunities last year and ****ed us by dropping easy passes.

He's an inch shorter than Harris, but with a 2 inch wider wingspan. Fortson also reminds me of the time we had Leonard Pope, too - same height, but about 15 pounds lighter.

Dumbastrious Harris with hands would be a fantastic addition, and a possible boxout mismatch if the defense is rolling with 7 DB's.

Kelce plays basically as a big WR though. How he looks isn't really that relevant in terms of what they're asked to do in this offense.

Harris has a TE's thighs and ass. Similar height/weight, totally different build.

Thick thighs and ass is what generates power so a TE can anchor down in his blocks, or power through a LB or a physical DB to gain leverage and positioning.

Fortson running routes and catching passes isn't what's in question here. Those are the tings he SHOULD be good at. It's everything else that's required to be a real TE is what's in question.

No he doesn't. People make that lazy ass comparison and it's always been lazy. Kelce is a TE. He's built like a TE and plays like one too. He's just so damn quick and isn't often asked to block so people compare him to a WR.

Not buying the Fortson hype. If he makes the team, he'll have less than 10 catches.

He's not asked to block much because it's not his strongsuite. Same as Fortson.

Look at guys playing TE around the league. Fortson is fine.

Fortson looks nothing like most of the guys around the league playing TE, hence my initial point.

I've never seen a TE with Fortson's build. At least i can't think of any right now. Usually there's a good pro comp for most players. When there isn't, it begs the question of, "well, what IS he then?"

I'm not either and people here are getting butt hurt about it. He didnt crack the roster over Kiezer and Yelder or whatever we trotted out last year. Color me skeptical.

Nothing to do with the way Kelce plays the position. He runs routes, he positions, he catches like a TE. He has the build of a TE.
