That’s where I am at as well.

Use the draft to rebuild the WR position with at least two impact WR’s, sign a reasonably priced veteran WR such as OBJ who can help mentor and serve as a stopgap starter, and re-sign Donovan Smith or sign Tyron Smith at LT.

I do wonder if they shift towards fixing LT now. Someone like Leno maybe? Is he still available? Or maybe T Smith as you say.

All theses top WR will end up on shitty teams because nobody can afford them .

Haha, sorry I saw you'd posted a more...nuanced take on this subsequently. But sorry, I've made your mind up for you now. We're off FA WRs DJ, on to the draft!

AJ Brown is 26 years old and the Titans didn’t want to pay him as much as they’re now paying a 29- year old Calvin Ridley who will be 30 this year. Is an insult to dumb!

Calm down FFS.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out what Brown thinks..."I'm about to GET PAID." Highest bidder. If Veach wasn't willing to payout for Hopkins last year, what makes you think he's gonna do it for Hollywood Brown?? AFTER paying out the @ss for Chris Jones and still with the possibility of having to pay Sneed hanging out there. Read between the lines man

I still believe we are better off paying a WR than DB since we draft and develop DBs much better. We still need a high pick WR this year though.

Because Veach couldn't pay Hopkins last year. Jones held us hostage

FloridaMan88 03-13-2024 04:24 PM

The problem is that there is no free agent WR available worth paying premium $$$.

Was thinking about this on the drive home...

Isn't Tennessee sitting in the 7 slot in the draft?

Why in the actual **** would you spend $23M per for an almost 30 year old when you will have your pick from one of the best WR classes of all time, minus MHJ?

Ridely to Titans cya!

Because they are about to trade Hopkins+2nd to us for Sneed OF COURSE! Ridley takes Hopkins spot.

It’s a close race between Tennessee and Carolina to see which new regime screwed up worse by trying to correct the old regime’s errors.

Trading Brian Burns for nothing or overpaying Calvin Ridley.

I think Nabers goes 6 to the Chargers.

So they'll have a shot at Odunze. And that's not a bad consolation prize by any means. But you could also argue that having a veteran like Ridley to take some pressure of Odunze has a little value.

And shit man, you're not paying anybody else on your team anything (because your team sucks) and have to spend to the cap floor. So if that's what it took to get him, so be it.

That's why it stinks operating in a flush market like this. And why there can often be bargains to be found in the 2nd waive after the suckers have been cleared out.
