I don't think I've ever watched an NFL game with that many drops before.

In fact, the Jets players were calling each other out during practice all week about it and when players weren't giving max effort...that alone seems to have fixed the problem, even if it's only temporarily fixed.

That should have been another game that Geno threw for big yardage IMO.

I don't agree with that, he was just a bit late, just a bit off in terms of accuracy, in the NE game. He wasn't solid in that game, as DJLN spoke about in the game thread. I think you had your ganggreen glasses on :D Basically, it was all of what everyone said his struggles were.

But it seems he improved that today, so for a rookie thats exactly what you want to see.

I would like to see him really touch up his mechanics as he still seems to flip his hips and get out on his toes when he's going to throw it deep and uses alot of arm, but that will take time. I'd also like to see him not always just throw it deep like he's doing and really hone in on the intermediate routes when he has to have it, but again, that will come.

In that NE game, there AT LEAST 7-10 passes that were right on the money and dropped.

If half of those are caught, you can go ahead and add another hundred yards MINIMUM to his yardage total...you can also add 2tds.

Should, indeed.

Well, look. I see its perfectly fine to make excuses for Geno.

you were talking about Smith.

funny how certain QB's get the benefit of the doubt when WR's drop passes

Sorry partner, for as much shit as you give for having on Chief glasses, it seems when it comes to Geno, well...you know.

He was bad against NE. He was off in terms of timing, ball placement, pocket presence, basically everything in terms of QB play. But thats ok, he's a rookie and he learned from it and grew as shown today.

Thats a good thing for him.

Find ONE post where I've endorsed AS or completely dogged GS. Just one...take your time. I can wait.

Cassel is gone. I suggest you get over that too.

Real question:

Now that the fortunes of the team are hopefully turning for the best, have you thought about bringing back FDE?

The stadium would embrace it.

Still not as bad as the Jags and Eagles D's.

I suppose that Indy D is outstanding.

3 games this year.

Too much is made over QBs passing for 300+, etc.

Look at tonight's game.

Cutler 159

Ben 409

Do you think Cutler gives a shit that he threw for less than 200?

He is taking what they are giving.

Those passes were there for the taking. He saw the opportunities and pulled the trigger and delivered good passes that the receivers didn't need to adjust to and could catch in full stride.

When teams adjust their coverages to compensate, he will get it to the open man.

Alex Smith does a fantastic job of finding the open man, he just doesn't trust himself to make the kinds of throws Geno makes with ease.

He definately took shots down the field, which coming from a rookie is good to see. It's why the INTS, while troublesome, aren't killer yet.

I'm a little worried about his mid and short accuracy, it seems to be worse than it was in college, but his deep ball accuracy is much improved.

I understand just fine. we have a bunch of people here that were so butthurt that we didn't waste the 1.1 on Geno Smith that they are completely obsessed with him even though he does not play for our team. It is pretty simple. Then they come on here and crow about it when he does well (but disappear when he sucks). Sad and pathetic.

Meanwhile we are still 3-0.
