I read something about him dealing with an injury last week. In any case, it's no coincidence that the team has gone to shit as he has.

The way his leg was bleeding after he hit the floor almost looked like busted stitches.

I wonder if he had his knee scoped or something.

I'd see Graham, Selden and Svi as the primary ball handlers. And maybe a guy they sign.

Selden and Svi can't even handle the ball as 3s. That wouldn't be pretty.

Looks like the same old soft Perry to me (and the stats would seem to support that), but I'll admit that I'm biased in this regard.

Biased? No, not you. Say it isn't so.

What has Mason's assist to TO ratio been the past month. You know, since you're so hung up on how terrible the team's been playing during this time.

Awful, I'm sure. Both he and Selden have been just terrible over this month long stretch.

This doesn't change the fact that Mason is a natural PG with a much better assist rate than Graham, though.

Just my guesses assuming Mason moves on and HCBS doesn't sign another guard.

Yeah, that was noticeable. He's definitely playing through some kind of injury.

I love how you include Selden in that terrible category. I guess scoring 33 against Kentucky is terrible in your mind. Your boy Mason has been the biggest disappointment, by far, in the past month. And I'm not trying to pick on Frank. I like him. But his play lately has not been good. It's been erratic, at best.

I don't think it's fair to assume Mason moves on based on the rumor mongering of one individual. If he does, though, he'll need to recruit another PG for sure. Selden and Svi cannot handle such a responsibility. Perhaps Vick can?

Why wouldn't you? His play dropped off a cliff in January. He looked like he turned the corner as a player in November/December and now he's returned to being the same inconsistent floater (with the occasional good game) who plagued this team for 2 years.

I don't know what you want me to say on this one. I've admitted multiple times now that Mason has been awful for whatever reason (injury or otherwise). And the team most certainly rides or dies on his play.

I was purely basing my guesses on the assumption of Mason leaving. I've not heard the rumor, except here. So who knows?

I'm not sure Vick could be counted on being a ball handler next year, he's done little to nothing this year. Stranger things have happened, I guess.

It's wishful thinking, he probably couldn't. Oh well, there's always Tyler Self.

Guys, guys, guys, I think the issue here is that this team is loaded with a bunch of players who each has a major hole or two in their games. Kinda like 5 tool players in baseball; we have a bunch of 2, 3 and 4 tool guys. For example, Seldon can (generally) shoot, but he doesn't handle the ball well, he's a mediocre rebounder and his on-ball defense sucks. Mason can handle the ball ok, is a mediocre shooter and also has horrible on-ball defensive skills. Svi, can play defense pretty well, handles the ball ok, but can't shoot a lick (at least not that I can tell). And on and on.

Add it all together and we have very few guys who play at a consistently high level as the holes in their games are just too large. Makes for a KU team that doesn't quite measure up to prior KU teams.
