Maybe. The reason I thought he should have been a mid- to late-first pick was his lack of experience. But if they saw and thought enough of him after the offseason and camp to play him, then I think you have to treat him like what we was, a top-5 draft pick QB. And in that light, I would say that 4 games with 3+ INTs, a season long completion percentage under 54 and a year-end QB rating of 63 has to be seen as a disappointment especially when you consider the fact that he wasn't actually asked to do much but game manage an offense built around running the ball.
And again, I was never anti-Sanchez, I just thought like you he'd need time. But the Jets disagreed when they picked him, and then disagreed again when they started him week 1...
So in the end, maybe you and I were right, but either way, he had a bad, bad year. Which in no way means he can't have better ones down the road.
